Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about EME Sevilla Turística? Walking up to this sleek, modern building on Calle Mateo Alemán and realizing I was literally steps away from the Cathedral – I mean, you can practically reach out and touch those Gothic spires from some of the upper floors. The contrast is pretty striking, honestly. Here’s this contemporary 4-star place sitting right in the heart of Seville’s old town maze, where most of the buildings have been around since Columbus was planning his trips.

The location is actually brilliant once you get your bearings. Sure, dragging luggage through those narrow cobblestone streets can be a bit of a workout (and forget about driving right up to the door), but once you’re settled, everything unfolds around you. The Alcázar is maybe a 3-minute walk – seriously, I timed it – and you’re surrounded by all those tiny tapas bars that tourists spend hours trying to find. There’s this little plaza just around the corner where locals grab their morning coffee, and I found myself people-watching there most mornings because the hotel’s breakfast terrace gets pretty busy. Speaking of which, that rooftop situation they’ve got going on is no joke. The views are exactly what you’d hope for in this part of town, though it can get crowded during sunset hours when everyone’s trying to get that perfect Cathedral shot for Instagram.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist stuff, but like, which streets to avoid when the processions come through during Holy Week, or where to find decent parking (spoiler: it’s not easy, but they’ll point you toward the Cano y Cueto garage). The rooms feel properly modern without trying too hard to be trendy, which works when you’re spending your days wandering through medieval streets and need somewhere that feels like this century to crash. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Seville, but it gets the important stuff right. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in summer), the beds are comfortable, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than I expected. I did notice some street noise in the evenings, but that’s kind of unavoidable when you’re this deep in the old town – and really, the sounds of people enjoying themselves in the bars below just added to the whole Seville experience. If you want perfect quiet, you probably shouldn’t be staying in the middle of one of Spain’s liveliest historic centers anyway.

Good location, nice room with small clothing rack & bathroom. Communal coffee machine in common area. Small outside space

What could be improved: No mini fridge, room is pretty small, limited light just because of where the room is in the building

  • Honglu from Canada – 7 May 2025 (9/10)

location: great, close to many monuments,
The hotel has a lovely court, very bright, drink water cold and hot is available for everyone. My room is clean, shower is spacious and the hot water is sufficient.
Host is very helpful, she make extra effort to let us leave the luggage in the property before the check-in time. We really appreciate it.
We only stayed one night and it happened to be the first day of the April festival. We can hear the noises from the street and also when other guests open the street door.
We love it and will book again if come again. But we will try to avoid the room number 0 since it is very close to the street.

    Location

What could be improved: The room was really small.

  • Carole from France – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

Hidden gem, very clean and well located within minutes from the city center.

  • Sharland from Canada – 24 April 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Wifi was weak in much of the room. And I had a bit of touble getting into the hotel with the codes etc.

  • Giuseppe from Ireland – 18 April 2025 (9/10)

Everything was clean. Staff nice. They facilitated our check in late night without asking for more money. Really appreciated. And they also kept our luggages for a few hours after the check out. Great position, right in the city centre.
    Absolutely recommended

What could be improved: Everything was perfect. Unfortunately we were missing some kind furniture to put clothes and empty the luggage. There was only a wall hanger.

  • David from Australia – 6 April 2025 (8/10)

Excellent location in the maze of the old part of town, navigating in this area, takes some practice. Nicely presented, private, quiet room. Would recommend.

  • Tomas from Colombia – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Great location, cleaned every day if you ask for, very clean.

What could be improved: Not a big deal but shower has no door and could have better pillows 🙂

  • Myrna from United Kingdom – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

Room a good size for single traveller , nice double bed very clean and comfortable. I was on ground floor , had a patio. In foyer coffee making and water facilities nice touch . Bathroom good very hot shower . Location very good . Good value .

What could be improved: I would stay again however being of the older generation i prefer a reception to check in . Rather than waiting for a code to get into building and room . I could leave my luggage and checkin at 3 pm . I didn’t get back til late so my luggage was locked in the cleaning cupboard as no staff around . I phoned the owner who got back to me very quickly and remotely opened the door to get my stuff . Once I got used to this set up it was no problem . The owner was very patient and my calls with questioned quickly . Recommend this property .

  • Tania from Romania – 12 March 2025 (9/10)

The location is very good, the building it's a nice tipical andalusian experience itself.
    The room was very clean.

What could be improved: You have to be aware that he size of the room is a bit small, it's an accommodation you only sleep at. There is no desk and the clothes hanger could be improved. It's a good choice for the ones who love to explore the city rather than stay at the hotel.
Also, there is free water, tea and coffee in the lobby at any time and that was helpful.
