Honestly, when I first walked down Hiniesta street looking for this place, I almost missed it – which is actually part of its charm. EN CÁ TITO sits tucked into one of those narrow cobblestone streets in Sevilla’s old town where you can still hear actual neighbors calling to each other from their windows, not just tourist chatter. The name translates roughly to “at Tito’s place,” and that’s exactly how it feels – like you’re staying at someone’s well-appointed home rather than a generic hotel.

The “luminoso” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak, either. I mean, you know how these old Andalusian buildings can be dark and cave-like? Not here. They’ve somehow managed to flood the place with natural light without losing that authentic Sevillan character. The rooms have these gorgeous traditional tiles – the kind your grandmother would’ve killed for – but paired with modern fixtures that actually work properly. You’ll sleep well here; the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear every footstep from the street, though you might catch the occasional flamenco guitar drifting up from one of the nearby tablaos around midnight (honestly, it adds to the atmosphere).

What really sold me on this place is the location – and I don’t mean that in a “conveniently located near attractions” way that every hotel claims. I’m talking about being right in the heart of where Sevillanos actually live and work. There’s a tiny groceria around the corner where the owner will chat with you about football while weighing your oranges, and you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Plaza de la Encarnación where you can grab morning coffee with the locals before the tour groups descend. The Cathedral and Alcázar are close enough that you won’t need taxi money, but far enough that you’re not fighting crowds every time you step outside. Plus – and this matters more than you’d think – there are actual restaurants nearby that serve dinner at reasonable hours, not just the late-night places geared toward Spanish dining schedules that leave tourists starving.

The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Sevilla, but everything works the way it should. Hot water arrives quickly, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the staff seems genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. I particularly appreciated that they gave me real recommendations – like which days to hit the Mercado de Triana and which streets to avoid during Semana Santa if you’re not into massive crowds. Small touches, but they show someone’s actually thinking about your experience rather than just processing check-ins and check-outs.

  The small are where it is located is in an area that had all you needed a supermarket, bread/ patisserie, pharmacy, and 2 bars

  What an amazing place! Great location with fantastic restaurants, a church, a patisserie, markets and shopping literally around the corner. A short 15 minute stroll to the main plaza, the castle, and the Cathedral of Seville. The room was private and extremely comfortable, with plenty of room and comfortable beds.
  
  What could be improved: Parking is in short supply, finding a spot for the stay was about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Not a big deal since you could walk everywhere. The streets are also remarkably narrow. Rent the smallest car you can.

  The property is well located and within east walking distance of stores, restaurants and attractions. It has the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The wifi is good.
  
  What could be improved: The property is up two flights of stairs and there is no lift. Something to consider if you have heavy bags.
  
  The property is next to a school and a garbage collection site. Even though most windows are double glazed they do little to keep out the sound. It is noisy! Particularly as the kids are arriving at school and around midnight when the garbage truck arrives to empty the dumpsters. Don’t expect to sleep early …. Or late.
  
  Perhaps it was our misfortune to arrive after a heavy rain but the apartment stunk of sewage. It was almost gone by day three but was very off putting. Our host explained ‘this happens in the old part of the city after heavy rain’.

  Appartamento spazioso e centrale. Cucina fornita. Tutte le stanze hanno l'aria condizionata, anche se noi non abbiamo avuto bisogno di accenderla. Ci hanno lasciato 2 mazzi di chiavi così io e la mia collega potevamo essere indipendenti.

  El apartamento, muy luminoso y limpio y equipado y con provisiones y jabones etc y bien ubicado. Fáciles la recogida de llaves y la salida del apartamento.
  
  What could be improved: Se nos recomendó un aparcamiento (Hospital de la Macarena) que era muy caro.
  No se nos indicó que podía haber dejado el coche donde lo detuve para descargar las maletas, y donde no habría pagado aparcamiento.
  La indicación en Booking de que es un segundo sin ascensor está en inglés y en letra más pequeña que el resto.
