Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from the name “Escoberos Courtyard Duplex” – honestly sounds a bit corporate, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked right into Calle Escoberos, which is this narrow little street that most tourists completely miss even though they’re literally walking parallel to it on their way to the Cathedral. I mean, you’re maybe a three-minute stroll from all the main action, but somehow you’ve escaped into this quieter pocket where actual Sevillanos still live and work.

The duplex setup is pretty clever – you get this sense of having your own little townhouse rather than just another hotel room. The courtyard (which, let’s be honest, is more of a really nice patio) becomes your private outdoor space, and in Seville that’s pure gold. I spent way too many mornings out there with coffee, listening to the sounds of the neighborhood waking up – delivery trucks rumbling over cobblestones, neighbors calling to each other from their windows, church bells from about six different directions. The space feels authentically Andalusian without being all touristy about it, if that makes sense. Original tile work, whitewashed walls, but with actually comfortable furniture and decent wifi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes.

What I really appreciated was how the Valcambre folks seem to get that location isn’t just about proximity to monuments. Sure, you can walk to the Alcázar and Cathedral without breaking a sweat, but you’re also right near some of the better local bars that don’t have English menus plastered outside. There’s this tiny taberna maybe fifty meters away where I had the best montaditos – the owner doesn’t speak much English but he’ll set you up with whatever’s good that day. Parking is… well, it’s the old town, so good luck with that, but there’s a decent public garage about a five-minute walk if you’re driving. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, and you might find a few quirks (the shower pressure varies depending on time of day, and the stairs up to the bedroom are a bit steep), but it delivers on what matters most: authentic Seville living with just enough modern comfort to keep you happy. Perfect for people who want to feel like temporary locals rather than hotel guests.

    Clean and comfortable..

    What could be improved: Washing pods were not provided and it took them 2 days to bring them, despite mentioning it at the time of check in.

    Decent location. Apartment was clean

    What could be improved: Booked for 3 guests but only two towels provided. The stairs are not so great (noisy) and are also broken off from the wall. Can’t take your big bag upstairs.

    What could be improved: Only a single bed in one room when the listing said two twin beds. The staircase is a tight and steep spiral version and not suitable for infirm people

    Good location. La Macarena in an interesting, traditional area of Seville. The apartment was clean, convenient and well managed.

    What could be improved: Some may find the steep spiral staircase quite challenging. It's ashame the parking place advertised was not available for a few months.

    The apartment is really in the center, but very silent. The parking is 5 minutes walk. Supermarket is 100meters. Beautiful inner court. Confortable beds, good wifi.

    What could be improved: The ground floor is very dark, you need to turn the lights in daytime too. The terrace can't be used (I can understand, otherwise it can be to noisy).

    the book shelf with the books was nice

    What could be improved: practically all the rest was very disappointing.
    the apartment is small,
    it is not like in the pictures.
    there is no access to outdoor space, not even the balcony. not to mention the roof top.
    the apartment has very very steep dangerous staircase that is a serious life threat to little children and elderly people.

    Building works: terrible noise from 6AM – 5PM approx, added to the staircase danger that allowed us no rest and no vacation sensation and no ability to use the top room for the children (from the worry), all this did not allow us to have a vacation.

    the worst part was the complete lack of attention to us by the hosts. they ignored us, pretended to offer solutions (such as making us pay ful price for another property whilst not offering to cancel the current), laughed at us and lied to costumer service.

    i attach photos of my arm after a flee attack in the night in the apartment.

    shameful , disgraceful. not recommended.
