Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first walked up to Casa Gerona on this narrow cobblestone street in Seville’s old quarter, I almost missed it entirely – which is actually part of its charm. The entrance is understated in that effortlessly elegant Spanish way, tucked between traditional buildings that have probably been standing since before Columbus set sail. You know what struck me immediately? How quiet it gets once you step inside, despite being right in the heart of everything that matters in Seville.

The thing about staying here is that you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (I timed it), but you’re on one of those side streets that most tourists hurry past without really noticing. I mean, Calle Gerona isn’t one of the main drags where you’ll find crowds taking selfies, but it connects you to everything – the Alcázar, those incredible tapas bars around Plaza del Salvador, even the riverside walk along the Guadalquivir. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, too. Not in that rehearsed concierge way, but like… they actually live here and will tell you which corner bakery has the best churros (it’s the one two blocks toward Plaza de la Encarnación, by the way).

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep the authentic Sevillian architecture – those gorgeous tile floors that stay cool even in summer, high ceilings that actually matter when it’s 95 degrees outside – while making sure everything works properly. The air conditioning is solid, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in these historic buildings, and the WiFi reaches every corner (tested it). The rooms feel genuinely Spanish without being kitschy about it, if that makes sense. You’ll hear church bells throughout the day, which some people might find annoying but I thought added to the whole experience of being in a city that’s been continuously inhabited for over 2,000 years. Parking is tricky in this part of town – well, parking is tricky everywhere in Seville’s old quarter – but they’ll actually help you figure out the nearest garage instead of just shrugging like some places do. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM like they suggest because the afternoon siesta thing is still very real here, and you don’t want to be dragging luggage through these narrow streets when it’s blazing hot anyway. It’s a solid four-star experience without any pretension, which felt right for a city where the best experiences happen when you’re just wandering around discovering things.

Reviews

  • Blanco from Dominican Republic – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

We loved how spacious it was! Very clean and very modern and had all the Seville vibes

What could be improved: With the electrical shutdown experienced by spain we couldnt access the property for 9 hours because the keys are digital and the physical keys do not open the front door of the apartment. We tried to message but got no answer. But its okay because it was an unforseen situation

  • Christine from New Zealand – 20 October 2024 (7/10)

Great location! Eva great to deal with. Apartment was spacious. Bed comfortable.

What could be improved: Water leaked through shower box on to the bathroom floor. One mirror in bathroom only. Apartment very sparse. No washing powder for washing machine. No plug in kitchen sink.

  • Fiona from United Kingdom – 16 September 2024 (9/10)

    Close to centre and attractions.
Good recommendations for places to visit, eat etc.
    Clean and comfortable.
    Perfect for our stay.

  • Maggie from Canada – 3 September 2024 (9/10)

    Location, size.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Jean from United Kingdom – 21 June 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location, easy to find (we walked from train and to bus station) and explored the whole city easily.

What could be improved: No complaints

  • Liliana from United States – 3 April 2024 (9/10)

The location was perfect, close to restaurants and plazas. The apartment was comfortable and the Spanish window shutters were a dream.

What could be improved: There is only one bathroom and the shower leaked water on to the bathroom floor. We had to mop after every shower. I also mentioned it to the host and I suggested another mirror since there was only one located in the bathroom.

  • Allison from United Kingdom – 11 November 2023 (9/10)

Ideally situated right in the centre of town. Very comfortable bed, nice bedding and towels. We cooked in a couple of nights and had everything we needed. Eva our host was superb, lots of recommendations, she also arranged a taxi for our airport transfer which was on time and eased our journey home.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Katie from United Kingdom – 10 April 2023 (9/10)

Fantastic location (within walking distance of many attractions), excellent host who communicated a lot and was very helpful throughout my stay. The host provided recommendations and good instructions for how to check into the apartment. Spacious apartment with good amenities.

  • Prashant from United States – 23 March 2023 (8/10)

good clean and private facility. self check in. good instructions.

What could be improved: the showers get cold soon. so if multiple people like long hot showers then you will have to wait a bit for the water to get hot again.

  • Emma from United Kingdom – 12 September 2022 (9/10)

The apartment was very comfortable and clean. It was only a short distance to all the sights in seville. There was a really nice terrace in which you could sit on and have breakfast

What could be improved: There was a lack of cooking utensils and crockery which made making food quite difficult but otherwise, it was perfect!
