You know what struck me first about Eva Recommends Plaza del Museo? The entrance is so understated you’d almost walk past it – which is actually perfect because it means you’re not dealing with tour groups clogging up the lobby. This place sits right in the heart of Seville’s old town on Calle Antonio Salado, and I mean *right* in it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the cathedral, but somehow the street itself stays pretty quiet, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back to their buses.

The building itself has that typical Sevillian charm – you know, the kind where you walk through an unassuming door and suddenly you’re in this gorgeous interior courtyard that makes you stop and just… breathe. The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully modern” – they’ve clearly been renovated recently but whoever did it actually understood that you don’t need to strip away every bit of character to make a place comfortable. The AC works properly (crucial in Seville, trust me), the beds are genuinely good, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure. Small thing, but the windows actually block out street noise, which matters more than you’d think when you’re sleeping above cobblestones that amplify every footstep.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. Not in that rehearsed concierge way, but like they live here. When I asked about dinner spots, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic list; he asked what I was in the mood for and then gave me three specific recommendations within walking distance, including this tiny tapas place around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, which honestly works out better because you’re surrounded by incredible food options. I mean, you’re staying in one of the best eating neighborhoods in Spain – why would you want to be stuck in a hotel dining room? Parking is… well, it’s Seville’s old town, so forget about driving here. But the nearest parking garage is maybe a five-minute walk, and they’ll actually call ahead to reserve you a spot if you ask nicely. The whole area comes alive differently depending on when you visit – spring and fall you’ll have more company from other travelers, but summer evenings (once the heat breaks) have this magical quality when locals start filling the plazas and you can just wander and stumble into whatever’s happening. Four stars feels about right for this place, and that 8.5 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Seville, but it nails the basics while putting you exactly where you want to be.

  Excellent host and location. Few min walking from first tourist sights. We like it a lot. Sevilla city center and Triana center is close enough to avoid any public transport.
