Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Calle Abades – it’s one of those narrow cobblestone streets in Seville’s old quarter that looks like every other charming-but-touristy lane. But then you step into Genteel Home Abades and, well, it actually lives up to its name in a way that surprised me. The place has this refined, almost residential feel that makes you forget you’re staying in a hotel. I mean, the location alone is pretty incredible – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (and I timed it), but somehow the street itself stays relatively quiet, especially in the evenings when the tour groups have cleared out.
What really got me was the attention to detail throughout the property. The common areas have this understated elegance – think carefully chosen antiques mixed with modern touches that don’t feel forced or overly designed. The rooms are spacious by European standards, which anyone who’s stayed in old town Seville will appreciate, and they’ve managed to maintain the historic character while actually having decent air conditioning (trust me on this one if you’re visiting in summer). The bathrooms are surprisingly well-appointed too – good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in these converted historic buildings. You know what struck me most though? The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at the Alcázar, the front desk guy gave me this whole strategy about timing and alternative entrances that clearly came from someone who deals with this question daily, not from a script.
The area itself is pretty ideal if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. Calle Sierpes is maybe a five-minute walk if you want shopping, but you’re also close enough to duck into places like Bar Eslava for tapas (locals actually go there, not just tourists) or grab morning coffee at one of the tiny cafés near Plaza del Salvador. Parking is basically impossible on the street – I’d honestly just use the public garage near Plaza de la Encarnación and walk, it’s not far. The only minor thing I’d mention is that weekend nights can get a bit lively since you’re right in the heart of the old town, but it quiets down pretty reasonably, and the windows are decent at blocking sound. For a four-star place with an 8.7 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for – that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the stuffiness or the inflated prices of the big luxury hotels. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you actually know Seville a little better just by staying there.

Lot of space and good location. The building has Seville charm with open central court yard. We had everything we needed for a group of 6. Very helpful response from customer service, even thought it took a while to get the AC to be effective.

Super location, very spacious, comfortable accomodation
What could be improved: Definitely needed a mirror in the bedrooms, on the inside of the wardrobe doorsRuth from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location. Comfortable beds and lounge. Peaceful.
What could be improved: One bathroom for 4 downstairs. Minimal kitchen and bathroom consumables. No tea towels provided. No extra blankets for cold nights. Balcony / terrace run down.Laura from United Kingdom – 14 March 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful, clean and comfortable apartment in a lovely building. Very spacious with great amenities. Perfect location – central but quiet. Staff were amazing, always happy to help and quick to respond.

Location was great. Ambience inside was great. Bedrooms were good.
What could be improved: Only 2 bathrooms. 1 en suite and one for other 2 rooms. The Nespresso coffee maker did not work on arrival. They fixed the machine on first day after we arrived – it worked but still seemed to leak. The shower in shared bathroom did not work very well – water leaking from the hand held hose and dripping from fixed overhead. Needs a little work to sort both these problems. Otherwise a great place to stay.Gayle from United States – 13 February 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: Kitchen could have been provisioned better. More toilet paper. Mirrors in bedroom would have been nice.

Location, real nice decoration, very well equipped, wide spaces in whole apartment including the terrace. A quiet neighborhood but very close to everything. Excellent communication and service from the hosts.
What could be improved: They should advise the guest to check that the portal door is unlocked before left the keys inside the unit when checking out. We got stuck in the lobby and lost the train. It was early in the morning and nobody was able to unlock the portal for us until an hour later.Maria from United States – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Nothing
