Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Genteel Home Francos Entretejas on Calle Francos, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and the narrow cobblestone street in Seville’s old quarter had me wondering if I’d picked the right place. But man, stepping inside was like discovering this perfectly kept secret tucked away from all the tourist chaos.
The thing about staying right in the heart of the old town is that you’re literally surrounded by centuries of history, but you know what? That also means you’re dealing with medieval street layouts and the occasional rumble of late-night revelers stumbling back from the tapas bars. Honestly though, the trade-off is worth it – I mean, you can walk to the Cathedral in about three minutes, and Plaza de Armas is right there when you need to catch a bus or just want to people-watch with a coffee. The staff actually gave me this insider tip about ducking through the little alley behind Calle Sierpes to avoid the crowds, which saved me probably hours over my stay.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend that traditional Andalusian charm with modern comfort without making it feel forced or fake. The rooms have this authentic tile work that you see all over Seville, but the air conditioning actually works (crucial in summer, trust me), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed in Spain. I stayed during Semana Santa one year, and while the whole city was absolutely mad with processions and people, this place felt like a calm refuge. The sound insulation is surprisingly good considering these old buildings usually echo everything. You’ll still hear some street life – it’s Seville, after all – but nothing that kept me awake.
The breakfast situation is solid too, though don’t expect some massive buffet spread. It’s more of that European continental style, but they know their jamón and the coffee is strong enough to get you moving for a day of wandering around the Alcázar or getting lost in the Jewish Quarter. Speaking of getting lost, one thing I really appreciated was how the front desk folks actually draw you little maps with shortcuts marked on them. Not just the obvious tourist routes, but like, where to find the best churros at 7 AM or which entrance to use at the Cathedral to skip the longest lines.
Parking is… well, it’s what you’d expect in a medieval city center. There’s a public garage about a five-minute walk away, but honestly, if you’re planning to explore Seville properly, you’re better off just walking or using the tram system. The 8.5 rating this place gets makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you that authentic neighborhood feel. For the price point and location, you’re getting genuine value without the tourist trap markup you see closer to the main monuments.

The location was excellent. There was everything you needed in the apartment.
What could be improved: The spiral staircase isn't suitable if you have a mobility problem. The stairs can be slippery and so you need to wear shoes. The sofa didn't turn into a bed as it is broken.Rebecca from United States – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
Very central location
Roof top terrace was a joy!
Nice to take clothes washer
What could be improved: I did like the staircase but I knew that was what was in this apartmentDeirdre from Ireland – 20 February 2025 (9/10)
Location was perfect – we were right in the centre of the old town, a stone's throw from the cathedral. Appt was perfect for 2 – spotlessly clean.
A few extra coffee capsules would have been great though!!Tony from Ireland – 19 February 2025 (9/10)
Amazing place to start right in the heart of the city but quiet and relaxing. Have stayed with this company a couple of times at different properties and always excellent

Fantastic location – it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The rooftop terrace in our apartment was sunny and warm. We really enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the people walking below. It seemed the people in Spain loved to sing and we would laugh as they serenaded the city. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the showers worked well. Our hosts were also very quick to communicate and easy to speak to in English which was helpful to us.
What could be improved: The nespresso machine seemed to be broken so we didn't get to have coffee in our unit. The street nearby is very busy all night long so I wore earplugs when I wanted to get some good rest as I am a light sleeper. The couch in the living room looked a bit dirty and in need of a good wash.Audrey from United States – 2 July 2023 (9/10)
We had an amazing stay and loved this apartment! Two employees met us to review all the aspects for the apartment and to orient us. They even brought a city map for us and reviewed and suggested the top spots to visit! The apartment was so clean, bright and modern. The kitchen was wonderful and we enjoyed the coffee machine and the tea kettle every morning. One of us slept on the sofa bed while the other two slept in the loft with twin beds. We all slept well and comfortable. We really appreciated use of the washing machine and enjoyed the rooftop terrace to hang laundry and also to enjoy the views of the city in the day and night. We ate dinner in several evenings and all the appliances seemed new and worked well. The location was amazing. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go — Alcazar, Cathedral, Plaza de Espana, and more. Definitely hope to stay here again!
What could be improved: Nothing. Note that the spiral staircase to the second floor could pose an issue for individuals with any challenging mobility issues. For us — it was a fun change of pace.Maggie from Spain – 30 June 2023 (9/10)
INCREDIBLE stay!! Location was wonderful. The place was spotless when we arrived and we couldn't have been happier to come back to it everyday. We wanted to stay in Seville longer just for the place 🙂
What could be improved: The next-door neighbors had a party on a weeknight. We shared the balcony with them, so it was quite noisy when we wanted to sleep.Amanda from Canada – 26 June 2023 (9/10)
Our expectations were exceeded. The location was superb and check in was easy. The apartment was clean, bright, and comfortable, and the terrace was wonderful!
