You know what caught me off guard about Genteel Home Gamazo? The name honestly doesn’t do it justice – I was expecting something stuffy and old-fashioned, but this place actually feels like staying in a beautifully restored Sevillian townhouse that someone with incredible taste happens to own. It’s tucked right into Calle Zaragoza in the old town, which means you’re basically living like a local in one of the most authentic corners of Seville. I mean, you can walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by those narrow cobblestone streets where actual Sevillanos grab their morning coffee and evening tapas.

The building itself has this gorgeous blend of traditional Andalusian architecture with modern touches that don’t feel forced – exposed brick walls, beautiful tile work, but then you’ve got perfectly functioning air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer) and WiFi that actually works. The rooms have this lived-in elegance, if that makes sense. Dark wood furniture, crisp white linens, and these amazing shuttered windows that keep things cool during the day but let in all that golden Seville light when you want it. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing – old town locations can be tricky with noise, but I slept incredibly well even during Semana Santa week when the streets were buzzing until late.

The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, which is rarer than you’d think. They steered me toward this tiny bar called El Rinconcillo (apparently it’s been around since 1670) that I never would have found otherwise, and they were spot-on about timing visits to the Alcázar – go right when it opens or after 4 PM to avoid the worst crowds. Parking is… well, it’s old town Seville, so forget about driving here. But there’s a decent public garage about a five-minute walk away on Calle Almirante Lobo if you absolutely need to bring a car. Honestly though, once you’re settled in here, everything you want to see is walkable, and the metro stop at Puerta de Jerez connects you to the rest of the city easily enough. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not flashy or over-the-top, but everything just works beautifully, and you end up feeling like you’ve discovered this perfect little secret in the heart of one of Spain’s most incredible cities.

  Very near plaza nueva, av. de la constitucion, la giralda, corrida and the important places. Apartment is impeccably clean. For a 7 day stay, it was cleaned on the 4th day with sheets and towels replaced. We asked to check in early and the host/staff graciously allowed us. It seems they cleaned the apartment immediately after the earlier occupant left so could get in. Thank you very much.
