Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Genteel Home Maestranza, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place with “different locations” in Seville’s old town. Turns out, that’s actually part of what makes it brilliant. You’re not stuck in some cookie-cutter hotel complex; instead, you’re getting a proper apartment or house right in the heart of the historic center, and honestly? It feels like you’re living there rather than just visiting.

The thing about staying in Seville’s casco antiguo is that every narrow street tells a story, and Genteel Home gets this completely. Depending on which property you end up in, you might be a two-minute walk from the Cathedral (you’ll hear those bells, trust me), or tucked away on one of those impossibly narrow streets where the buildings practically touch overhead. I mean, we’re talking about streets that were laid out when horses were the main form of transport – so yeah, forget about parking right outside, but that’s part of the charm. The whole area comes alive differently depending on the time of day. Mornings are quiet except for the occasional delivery truck navigating those tight corners, but by evening, especially during tapas time, you’ll hear the gentle buzz of conversation drifting up from the streets below.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail – and I don’t mean fancy toiletries (though those are nice too). It’s more like… they actually understand what travelers need. The kitchens are properly equipped, not just for show, which matters when you want to grab some jamón and manchego from Mercado de la Encarnación and have a proper breakfast. The Wi-Fi works – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places in these old buildings struggle with that. And the beds? Actually comfortable, not just pretty. You know what I appreciated most though? The local knowledge. The folks running this place genuinely know Seville, so when they recommend that tiny tapas bar three streets over, or tell you the best time to visit the Alcázar without the crowds, they’re not just reciting from a guidebook. They’re sharing spots they’d take their own friends to. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well.

  Very friendly host, trying to help with early check in, responsive, transparent. Excellent location, everything available within walking distance. Comfortable apartment.

  We were very pleased with everything:) The house was great with both its location and decoration. The rooms were clean and big. The living room was very nicely decorated and we loved the kitchen. There isn’t a negative thing! Thank you very much for everything because we had a great experience in Sevilla. I definitely recommend it!

  Location is fantastic. everything is close, many great restaurants around, clean, very well equipped. Has three different style coffee makers:)). Loreto was great, she came to meet us and let us in the apartment and explained where things were. There is an elevator in the building.

  The apartment was really spacious, well maintained and cleaned. Located really close to plaza de toro, allowed for nice walks both through the day and the evening. The staff has been always available through whatsapp, and the person responsible for giving us the keys explained to us everything needed for our stay. It has been a really nice stay!
  
  What could be improved: Honestly there was nothing wrong with the apartment or the staff. In the rooms, the windows were on the streets side, so a bit of noise in the saturday night was unavoidable.

  Wonderful location close to historic area, river, and bullring. Spacious accommodations.
  
  What could be improved: It was very inconvenient for three adults staying at the apartment to have to share a single set of keys. Small things need attention like fixing a broken dining chair, the shower head and another bathroom fixture.
