Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Genteel Home Santas Patronas? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re standing on that narrow cobblestone street in the heart of Seville’s old quarter. It really does feel like stepping into someone’s carefully curated home rather than a typical hotel – and I mean that in the best possible way.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant if you want to be right in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist circus on some of the main drags. Calle Santas Patronas is one of those authentic Sevillian streets where you’ll hear actual neighbors calling to each other from their balconies in the morning, but you’re still just a few minutes’ walk from the Cathedral and all the major sights. I stayed there during Semana Santa (probably not the smartest move for someone who values sleep), and while you could definitely hear the processions passing nearby, the street itself stayed relatively peaceful. The building has that classic Andalusian charm – thick walls that actually keep things cool during those brutal summer afternoons, and the kind of tile work that makes you want to run your hands along the walls.
What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to blend the historic architecture with genuinely comfortable modern touches. The rooms feel spacious by European standards, and honestly, after spending time in some of those cramped places near the Alcázar, the extra breathing room was such a relief. The staff – and this might sound cliché but it’s true – actually seem to know the neighborhood like locals rather than just pointing you toward the obvious tourist spots. They steered me toward this tiny tapas place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to catch some flamenco that wasn’t completely touristy, they knew exactly where to send me.
The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience the place day to day. Little things work the way they should – decent water pressure (not always a given in these historic buildings), reliable Wi-Fi, and breakfast that goes beyond the usual continental spread. I’ll be honest, the rooms facing the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights since Sevillians don’t exactly embrace early bedtimes, but that’s part of the charm of staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sanitized hotel district. Plus, if you’re the type who wants to experience authentic Seville rather than just photograph it, hearing the rhythm of actual local life is part of the appeal. The whole experience feels like you’ve got a friend in the city who happens to have excellent taste in interior design and knows all the right people.

The property was very comfortable and in a perfect central location. And the roof terrace was a great bonus!
What could be improved: Nothing.Paul from Canada – 25 March 2025 (9/10)
Great location and great access to parking. The unit was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated with a very bright and inviting ambiance.
What could be improved: Living room chairs were very uncomfortable.Miller from United Kingdom – 20 February 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location, close to the main sights and many restaurants and shops. Everything needed was provided in the apartment, which was characterful and comfortable.
What could be improved: Quite noisy from neighbours above, we could hear them moving around and it sounded very loud! I think there is very little insulation between the floors, but it's a lovely old building so to be expected I guess. Luckily they were quiet during most of the nights we were there.Radu from Italy – 13 February 2025 (9/10)
This apartment was ideally located near the city center and within easy reach of major attractions. We were spoiled for choice with the abundance of restaurants and cafes in the area. The apartment itself was impeccably clean, and we appreciated the added bonus of a cleaning service during our stay. Communication with the property management was excellent, facilitated seamlessly through WhatsApp. The keyless entry system was incredibly convenient. Inside, the apartment was warm, cozy, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities.
What could be improved: Could include some slippers as an option.
Some small pieces of painting was dropping from the wooden ceiling.Rebecca from United Kingdom – 26 December 2024 (9/10)
Lovely apartment in a great location. Well equipped and very comfortable. Helpful hosts and easy check in process.
What could be improved: There was significant noise from the streetMartina from Ireland – 5 December 2024 (9/10)
Absolutely everything. Loved the area and the apartment was so lovely and staff could not do enough for us. Definitely the best way to go if going to Seville
What could be improved: N/AOliver from Canada – 5 October 2024 (9/10)
The location is just perfect. Close to everything but super quiet.
Jacinta from Australia – 22 December 2023 (8/10)
Great location and very comfortable decor with everything you need.
What could be improved: There was a bad stench from the bathroom drains which we could not alleviate during the stay.Sarah from United States – 26 September 2023 (9/10)
The location is excellent – close to tapas bars, attractions, and the river!
What could be improved: Depending on who is also staying in the building, the outside can smell very strongly of cigarettes which made it hard to line dry our clothing or enjoy the patio.
