You know what struck me first about the Hernando Colón? It’s tucked away on this narrow street that feels completely separate from the tourist chaos, but you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral. I mean, you can hear the bells from your window, but you’re not dealing with the crowds of selfie-stick wielding tourists right outside your door.

The duplex setup is honestly pretty clever – it feels more like staying in someone’s carefully curated apartment than a typical hotel room. The stairs between levels are a bit steep (fair warning if you’re hauling heavy luggage), but there’s something charming about having that separation between your sleeping and living space. The kitchen area actually has proper equipment too, not those sad hotel mini-fridges that barely keep your water cold. I ended up making coffee there most mornings instead of venturing out, which says something because Seville has incredible café culture. The natural light streaming through those old windows is just… well, it makes you want to linger over breakfast longer than you probably should.

What really won me over was how the place sits in the neighborhood. Calle Hernando Colón has this perfect mix of locals going about their daily business and visitors who’ve figured out that staying slightly off the main drags is the way to go. There’s a little grocery store around the corner where the owner started recognizing me by day three, and honestly, that’s when you know you’ve found a good spot. The building itself has that weathered Andalusian charm – thick walls that keep things cool even when it’s blazing outside, and you can actually open the windows at night without worrying about street noise. I was there in late spring, and the evenings were perfect for having a glass of wine on the upper level while listening to the city wind down. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just works the way it should. The check-in was smooth, the WiFi didn’t cut out during my work calls, and the shower pressure was actually decent (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in these older buildings). If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Seville rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.

  Perfect spot in the city center, beautiful terrace, helpful service to book activities.

  The location was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower had strong pressure and worked well.
  
  What could be improved: The second floor bathroom, near the kitchen and the living room area, emitted one of the foulest stenches I have ever smelled. I tried airing the bsthroom out, but the stench remained. Even with the door and windows closed, some of this noxious odor came into the kitchen and living room area. Please fix this. The smell truly was sickening and overpowering.

  I liked the number of bathrooms and the lovely tile! The AC worked well and was easy to use. The location was fabulous – centrally located near the cathedral.

  Location was excellent with all the attractions and beautiful restaurants and bars surrounding it.
  The apartment has lovely outdoor balcony’s and small plunge pool. Very clean . Each room has an en-suite and the beds are very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: There was only one set of keys for a group of 6 and it was linked to the air conditioning, so if some of us wanted to go out and take the keys the air conditioning turned off.

  The location was amazing! Close to all the major sights. Awesome coffee shop across the street and a mini market 1 min down the street. Aircon in every bedroom and lounge room. Very tastefully decorated and every detail thought of. The beds were super comfortable and the bed linen was soft, like sleeping in your own bed. We were very impressed with the styling from the moment we walked in. Great communication too, when a couple of hiccups occurred, they were sorted promptly and had no impact on our stay. The plunge pool (tub) was great too. Cooled us down on those 40°C days and was nice to have the bubbles turned on (spa) after a long day of walking around. I will be staying here again.
