I was honestly a bit skeptical about staying in apartment-style accommodations in Seville’s old quarter – I mean, you hear stories about cramped spaces and thin walls in these historic buildings. But walking into Hernando Colón Suite Apartments completely changed my perspective. The building sits right on this narrow cobblestone street that feels like you’ve stepped back centuries, yet somehow they’ve managed to create these surprisingly spacious suites that actually feel modern without losing that authentic Sevillian character.

The location is what really gets me though – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (and I mean literally, I timed it), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague some of the hotels right on the main squares. The street itself, Calle Hernando Colón, is one of those gems that locals use as a shortcut between the cathedral area and the shopping district around Sierpes. I’d sit by the window in the morning with coffee and watch the mix of residents heading to work and early-bird tourists trying to beat the crowds – there’s something really authentic about that rhythm you just don’t get in the touristy zones.

What surprised me most was how well-equipped these suites actually are. I’m talking full kitchens with decent appliances (the coffee machine alone made my mornings infinitely better), and the kind of space where you can actually spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The beds are proper comfortable too – none of that European firm-as-a-rock business that sometimes catches American travelers off guard. One thing to note though: the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings since there are some popular tapas spots nearby, but honestly, if you’re staying in Seville’s old town and expecting library-quiet nights, you’re probably in the wrong city anyway. The energy is part of the charm, and by 2 AM things settle down nicely.

The staff runs a tight ship here – check-in was smooth, they actually answered their phone when I had questions (revolutionary concept, right?), and they seem to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about parking, they didn’t just hand me a generic map but walked me through the actual strategy for finding street parking in the area, including which blocks to avoid during market days. Those kinds of details matter when you’re navigating a medieval street layout with a rental car. The 8.4 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but it absolutely nails what it’s going for: comfortable, well-located apartments that let you live like a temporary local rather than feel like you’re camping in a hotel room.

  What could be improved: Not especially comfortable. A small bathroom with nowhere to hang clothes or towels.

  The location is great, within walking distance from the cathedral and the Alcázar. Good soft towers are available. The decoration is great.
  
  What could be improved: The view is to the street and the windows are not tight. The noise from the street is very loud.
  Noise is passing very strongly from the stairs if some noisy neighbours return from their party in Sevilla.
  I wish the owner or manager would leave some more coffee pods.

  Location. Great for access to culture and shopping. Very close to the Cathedral. The apartment had all we required and was pleasant.

  It's a beautiful apartment right in the heart of old town Sevilla. We loved the location being steps away from the Cathedral and good restaurants. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The front door doesn't stay closed unless it is locked with a key, so you always need to lock yourself in. We also had issues with the shower not draining and would need to stop the water part way through a shower and wait so it would not overflow.

  The location was perfect for walking to all the sights plus bars and restaurants. Small local supermarket, ideal for essentials, hosts were very informative and made sure we were well accommodated. All in all a perfect find.
  The apartment was squeaky clean and lolly and Ruth are excellent cleaners, not a speck of dust/dirt anywhere. Well done.
  
  What could be improved: The church bells rang very hour and not all the church times were in sync, so sleep slightly disturbed but not enough to worry about.
