Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Hispalis Jardines de Murillo? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s tucked right next to the Murillo Gardens, which honestly feels like stumbling onto Seville’s best-kept secret (even though it’s not really a secret at all). The location on Calle General Ríos is perfect in that understated way where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist crush around the Cathedral that you can actually think straight.

I mean, this isn’t one of those flashy hotels that tries too hard – it’s more like someone took a traditional Sevillian building and updated it thoughtfully. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling with terracotta tiles that actually look authentic, not like some resort interpretation of Spanish style. What really sold me was stepping out onto the street in the morning and realizing I could walk to the Alcázar in about eight minutes, but more importantly, there’s this little café two blocks down where locals actually go for breakfast. The neighborhood – they call it Nervión but you’re really on the edge of the historic center – has that perfect mix where you’ll see businesspeople heading to work and tourists figuring out their maps, but it never feels overwhelming.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re what you’d hope for from a solid four-star place. Clean lines, decent space, and – this matters more than you’d think – really good blackout curtains because Seville gets bright early, especially in summer. I stayed during April (prime time, honestly) and never dealt with noise issues, which surprised me given how close you are to everything. The staff genuinely knows the city, too – not just the obvious recommendations but actual helpful stuff like which entrance to use at the Cathedral to avoid lines, or that the rooftop bars in the nearby Hotel Casa 1800 area get packed after 9 PM. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM since they’re pretty strict about room readiness.

Here’s the thing that bumps this place up for me – the location lets you experience Seville like you’re staying in a real neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. You’re a five-minute walk from Parque de María Luisa, where half of Seville goes to run or walk their dogs in the evening, and about the same distance from the maze of streets around Calle Sierpes where the actual shopping happens. Plus, and this is crucial if you’re visiting in summer, you can duck back to your room during the brutal afternoon heat without it being a whole expedition. The 9.1 rating isn’t inflated – it’s just a place that delivers on the basics really well while putting you exactly where you want to be in the city. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews

  • Carlo from United States – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

It’s centrally located, close enough to major attractions by walking distance and many grocery stores and restaurants.

What could be improved: No complaints

  • Ana from Australia – 4 November 2024 (10/10)

The host was excellent; he took the time to help us answering all questions we had & providing very useful advice.

What could be improved: We had to check out by 11AM, we would have preferred a later check out.

  • Aleksandar from Serbia – 5 July 2024 (10/10)

Cool place, 20min walk from any important point in city. The place was spacious and well equipped.

  • Kylie from Australia – 12 June 2024 (9/10)

Accommodation was very comfortable with everything that was needed for a short stay. Daniel greeted me on arrival who was very friendly and welcoming.

  • Raluca from Romania – 4 May 2024 (10/10)

We really love staying here. It is a nice building located near Piața Espania, Alcazar and the Cathedral. We were welcomed by Daniel, who gave us all the information we needed and some really good tips for near restaurants and shopping. Also he told us about the bus station where stops the aeroport bus, which is nearby ( about 5 minutes walking distance).
We strongly recommend booking this place for the location, facilities, cleanliness and comfort.

  • Leslie from United States – 28 April 2024 (8/10)

    Great location and clean!

  • Alfon from Spain – 25 January 2023 (8/10)

Host contacted my a few days before check-in via the app to arrange for keys. We were in contact as soon as landed in Seville. Met host in timely manner at the apartment. They left me with extra towels. The location is superb, opposite to the Barrio Santa Cruz. There was coffee and sugar in the kitchen to start the day.

What could be improved: Apartment has all amenities and appliances to make it a perfect stay for leisure or work. I would have welcome a minimum of "consumables" for short term guests (stayed 1 week) like: salt, spices, cooking oil and infusions; spare toilet paper; soap for laundry, etc., really the kind of stuff that frequent travelers appreciate to feel homey and not having to buy on their first shopping day.

  • Marc from Netherlands – 23 September 2022 (9/10)

The location is the best. Close to all the sights.

What could be improved: The equipement in the kitchen could do better. Why id there no wooden spoon?

  • Shidramappa from India – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

It is a very good apartment in that area. And the staff was very good. We enjoyed our trip. We stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. It has all attractions nearby and is easy to walk around.very good for families. The only problem is that it has no elevator and on the 2nd floor, you need to use a staircase. Otherwise a very good apartment.

What could be improved: The only issue I observed is that it has a very big smart tv in the hall but the apps installed in that TV are with some different language and also it was very difficult to open any of the apps like Netflix or prime video within it. Didn't get much support for the same from the staff as staff also weren't aware of the same. Maybe they can fix it so that kids can enjoy it.

  • Amaia from Spain – 12 June 2023 (9/10)

    all

What could be improved: floor could be more cleaned
