Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Hispalis Santa Catalina? Walking up to this place on Calle Jáuregui, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking – it’s tucked into the old town in this perfectly unassuming way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something locals have been keeping to themselves. The building itself has that worn-in Sevillian charm, all weathered stone and wrought iron, but honestly, it’s when you step inside that things get interesting.
The location is actually brilliant, and I mean that in the most practical sense. You’re right in the heart of the old quarter, but somehow on one of those side streets that doesn’t get the tourist chaos of the main drags. I could walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes (I timed it, because I’m that person), but at night it was surprisingly quiet – none of that late-night street noise you get closer to the tapas district. The staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this little breakfast spot around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was trying to avoid the crowds at the Alcázar, they actually suggested the best time to go (early morning, right when it opens – trust me on this one).
What really sold me on the place was all those small details that make you realize someone’s actually thinking about what travelers need. The AC worked properly – and if you’ve been to Seville in summer, you know that’s not always a given. The shower had decent water pressure, the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and there was enough space to actually unpack without living out of your suitcase. I mean, it’s not fancy in that over-the-top way some hotels try to be, but everything just… worked. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that doesn’t try to wow you with marble lobbies or whatever, but after a long day of wandering around those narrow cobblestone streets (your feet will thank you for comfortable shoes, by the way), you’ll appreciate coming back somewhere that feels solid and reliable. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the building has this particular smell – sort of like old wood and lemon oil – that just feels authentically Sevillian. If you’re looking for a place to sleep well and wake up ready to explore without breaking the bank, this is honestly a really smart choice.

Excellent location. Comfortable and clean. Good communication. Very good place for a holiday in Seville.
What could be improved: Clearer instructions about keys.
A few information leaflets about recommendations for local attractions, public transport, etc.Panagiotis from Greece – 25 June 2023 (8/10)
Location is quite convenient. 15' from old town and various point of interest are within walking distance.
What could be improved: We arrived a bit after midnight and there was a charge of 40 Euro for late check-in. We had been informed about this in advance, but we still consider this not satisfactory. A key could have been left for us and no check-in would have been necessary and therefore no charge.Gina from United Kingdom – 24 April 2023 (9/10)
Fantastic apartment in a great location, modern, clean and well equipped.
Host was very helpful and informative.

What could be improved: it was noisy on the street outsideMaxim from Ukraine – 25 March 2024 (8/10)
Location, cleanliness, amenities, communication.
What could be improved: Too firm bed, noise from the street through the windows in the master bedroomRyan from Canada – 16 August 2022 (9/10)
My host Primi gave me a warm and helpful welcome, making arrival simple and delightful. The apartment was new, the building also really nice, and very quiet
What could be improved: A little bit of traffic outside during commute rush hours, can be a bit noisy for late night sleepers, but otherwise not too too bus outsideNatalia from Spain – 21 November 2024 (7/10)
Location is perfect as it is centric but not on a noisy crowded barrio. And the appartment is big.
What could be improved: The appartment is on a ground floor and you do have noise from the street.
It was clean but not recent cleaned there was dust around everywhere specially at the sofas, cupboards and the room with 2 beds. One of us is allergic and we had to clean up ourselves. The double bedroom bed is not comfortable for 2 people as it moves a lot.
I was arriving alone and late on the first night and I was told there was an extra charge for late check in that was nowhere written before booking, although we arrange a free key self pick up this was annoying and unfair.
Overall it is a great place to stay but not as comfortable as we wished.Guy from Israel – 18 April 2024 (9/10)
Perfect location. Cool property, including the sunny roof where we were able to dry our laundry. Very welcoming – both the apartment and the host. Feels very safe thanks to the setting of the building and the access to the apartment itself. We didn't need public transportation, but walked wherever we wanted. Supermarket near by, and so as some good restaurants.
What could be improved: A bit expensive in comparison with other places we've stayed in during our vacation. Beds were unstable and a replacement is advised. Close to the street, but not that bad.Almas from United Kingdom – 13 August 2022 (7/10)
The property was at a good location, about a 10-15 minutes walk to the main town. There was a nice big food store just two doors down from the property which made it easy to get food items etc. The property itself was nice and spacious with all the basic necessities. The bedding and towels were nice and clean and the owners had left us a tiny bottle of shampoo and body gel each.
When we arrived at the property, the air conditioning was not working at all. I contacted the guy who initially showed us the property and he sent a technician to check but we were told it can’t be fixed. It was a hard day because we had been travelling all morning from Granada and arrived at the property at 16:00. We tried to call the guy who showed us the property but he was busy showing a property to someone else. We were finally given an option of moving to another property that they owned but was very different from the one we had booked, or waiting the next morning until another technician came to check the air condition. They allowed us to have the first night for free. However, if the air condition wasn’t fixed then we had to find ourselves another property. It was 22:00 at this point and we decided to stay the night and see what happens the next day. Our day had been totally wasted and we left the apartment after 22:00 to eat with two children. The air condition was fixed the next day at 13:00 and so we didn’t have to move.
When we were worrying about everything on the first day, a lady called Irene was messaging me (not sure if she’s the worker or owner) but she was the only one who seemed to care and was very apologetic. We asked for two fans and they were delivered to us and she kept in contact reassuring that the air condition will be sorted. She didn’t make us feel that it was our fault and we had done something to the air condition. Thank you Irene for your kindness.
What could be improved: The guy who showed us the property was not any help, he wouldn’t even talk to us or understand our situation. When I asked him why the air-condition hadn’t been checked prior to us moving in. He said the air-condition was fine when I came to show you but I don’t know what happened when you arrived. This was not the truth, the air-condition hadn’t worked at all at any point. My husband had even asked whether it was on or not and this guy had said it takes time to start cooling. He kind of made us feel as if it was our fault that the air-condition was not working. He was one of the owners of the property, but he didn’t remain in contact with us, he just said I’m busy with other clients. Irene was the only one who remained in touch and was very apologetic throughout. Our day had been wasted and we were all starving but couldn’t leave because we weren’t sure whether we had to eventually leave the apartment or find a new place.
The property was not very clean and there was dirt behind doors. We would have appreciated a vacuum cleaner so we could have cleaned ourselves. There was only a brush and shovel and the brush had no handle. There was also a cockroach in the room with the double bed. The bathroom sink was dirty, there was a patch of dirt in the hole, and every time you bent down to brush or wash your face, it was like looking into vomit. I found some cleaning products in the kitchen sink and I poured down some bleach in it and that cleared it all up.Debra from United States – 17 June 2025 (5/10)
Clean, good set up
What could be improved: Very very loud traffic noise in main bedroom making it impossible to sleep even with earplugs
