Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Hommyhome Cerrajería,” I had zero idea how to pronounce it and wondered if I’d booked some weird industrial space by mistake. But walking up to this narrow street in Seville’s old quarter, you realize the name actually makes perfect sense. Cerrajería literally means locksmith shop, and this whole pedestrian street has this artisanal, workshop vibe that feels authentically Sevillano without trying too hard. The building itself is one of those perfectly renovated traditional houses where they’ve kept all the good bones – thick walls that actually keep the heat out (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in summer), original tile work that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel supply catalog, and these lovely interior courtyards that remind you why Andalusian architecture evolved the way it did.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel like a proper hotel while keeping that residential character intact. The rooms are honestly beautiful – I mean, they’ve got modern everything where it counts (the air conditioning works like a dream, the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes), but there’s this warmth that chain hotels just can’t fake. You know what I love? The little details that show someone actually thought about how people live in these spaces. Enough outlets near the bed, proper reading lights, and – this might sound small – but hooks and surfaces where you can actually put your stuff without everything sliding onto the floor. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too, which anyone who’s stayed in European old town hotels will tell you is basically a minor miracle.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Seville rather than just visiting it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Cathedral – and I actually timed this because I’m that person – but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM. The street gets quiet at night, which is saying something for this part of town, but during the day there’s just enough foot traffic to feel alive. There’s this little café around the corner on Calle Alemanes that locals actually use (not just tourists Instagramming their cortados), and you can walk to basically everything worth seeing without getting into those narrow, crowded alleys that make you feel claustrophobic. Parking is… well, it’s what you’d expect in Seville’s old town, meaning forget about it and just take the train from the airport like everyone else does. But honestly, once you’re here, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway – the whole point is wandering around getting lost in streets that are older than your entire country, then stumbling back to a place that actually feels like home.

Excellent location, comfortable space.

The apartment was very comfortable and located in a pedestrian shopping area. It was easy to access all the main attractions via foot and we found some good restaurants nearby. The apartment had all we needed for a short stay and we appreciated the washing machine. We were met on arrival and shown over the apartment. Communication was easy.
What could be improved: Whilst the main bedroom was very spacious, the second bedroom was on the small side and perhaps better suited to children rather than adults, but for a short stay it was fine.Angela from United States – 30 April 2024 (9/10)

Comfortable and spacious apartment in a quiet street even though the hustle and bustle of the city was on the next street. Very conveniently located within short minutes of the Cathedral , Alcazar, the river where hop on-off bus routes start, shops, bars, restaurants. Lovely coffee place that sells pastries right across the street – we had croissants for breakfast there. Aldi is a 9 minute walk for wine and other shopping. Parking was 5 minutes walk and cost €20/day. Wouldn't take a bug car down there though as spots are small and tight but that is expected in most old cities. Highly recommend this property not only for location but also the staff who were accommodating , pleasant and helpful.
