Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Hommyhome San Bartolomé? It’s tucked right there on Menéndez Pelayo – and I mean, if you know Seville at all, you’ll realize that’s basically hitting the jackpot for location without the tourist circus that swarms around the cathedral area. The building itself has this understated elegance that honestly feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some sterile hotel chain. When I first walked in, there was this subtle scent of orange blossom (classic Seville touch) and the lobby had these gorgeous Andalusian tiles that weren’t trying too hard to scream “authentic Spanish experience” – they just were.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Everything works properly, which sounds basic but honestly, after staying in places where the shower pressure could barely wet a stamp, I actually appreciate when things just function well. The beds are genuinely comfortable – not that firm-as-a-board European style that leaves you aching, and the air conditioning actually keeps up with Seville’s brutal summer heat (trust me on this one, it matters). What I really loved though was how quiet it stays at night. You’re close enough to the action that you can walk to pretty much anywhere worth going – the Alcázar is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, and there are these incredible tapas spots along Calle Betis that locals frequent – but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM.

The staff genuinely knows the city, which makes such a difference. I mean, they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map and send me on my way. When I mentioned I wanted to see some flamenco that wasn’t completely touristy, they pointed me toward this little place in Triana that ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. Check-in was smooth, parking… well, it’s Seville’s old town so street parking is what it is, but they actually give you solid advice about where to find spots that won’t cost you a fortune. The whole place just has this relaxed professionalism – like they care about what they’re doing but aren’t stressed out about it. Honestly, with a 9 rating, I was expecting maybe some overhyped boutique place, but this actually delivers on being genuinely comfortable and well-run. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentically Sevillian without sacrificing modern comforts, and you want to be able to explore the city properly without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble, this place gets it right.

Reviews

  • Thi from United States – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Very nice location with all the amenities such as washers and fully equipped kitchen, even for people don’t cook much like us. Very clean.

What could be improved: Would be nice if the North America standard electrical adapter or the USB plugs are available for charging electronics devices.

  • Nathan from United Kingdom – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

Bright, comfy, clean, very quiet apartment!

Location was great nice and quite lots of coffee shops around. The apartment was amazing there was everything you could want it’s was absolutely spectacular. Plenty of room for four adults and really comfortable beds

    What could be improved: N/A
    Sensational beat all our expectations

  • Petar from Serbia – 25 April 2025 (10/10)

Very nice and spacious apartment, recently renovated, with high ceilings, tastefully decorated. The building has an elevator and is located on a large, busy street, 10 minutes from the center and the cathedral.

What could be improved: The bed in the bedroom could be firmer. Sometimes there is a smell in the hallway of the building, but that is often the in old cities and old buildings.

  • Jim from United States – 7 January 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic host and great service. Plenty of room and good location.

What could be improved: It was all great!

  • Alicia from Canada – 26 December 2024 (10/10)

Everything. I’ve stayed at 8 places during my European trip and this was the best amongst all. The place was newly furnished with high quality facilities and everything was spotless!

What could be improved: Really nothing.

  • Katarzyna from Poland – 16 November 2024 (10/10)

PERFECTION! we liked pretty much everything – the apartment is nicely located (within walking distance of both the Centro Historico attractions and Santa Justa train station), spacious and beautifully furnished, equipped with anything you might need:) the water pressure was amazing, beds comfy and we weren’t bothered by the noises from the outside or other apartments in the building. The staff was so helpful it actually exceeded our expectations – easy to contact and nice – overall, we would definitely stay there again!

What could be improved: there was a bit of smell in one of the bathrooms, probably coming from the pipes (you could strongly smell it on the corridor outside the apartment) but it didn’t bother us that much ; sometimes the hot water was running short in the morning but still, no concern for us:)

  • Robin from United States – 2 November 2024 (8/10)

Location was ok but there was no parking available in the neighborhood so we had to park very far away.

What could be improved: The person who was supposed to give us the key to the apartment was 45 min. late in meeting us. We had to stand outside with our luggage in the dark. The communication system between Hommyhome personnel with us was fine but not so great with the person bringing the keys.

  • Robert from United Kingdom – 1 November 2024 (9/10)

Really nice, spacious and well equipped apartment.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Mustafa from Germany – 6 October 2024 (10/10)

Great location, walking distance to all sightseeing locations. Very clean apartment with wonderful decoration. Easy and quick communication with the company

    What could be improved: None
