Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Hommyhome Teodosio, I almost walked right past it. It’s tucked into this narrow street in Seville’s old town, and from the outside, you’d never guess what you’re about to find inside. The building itself looks like every other centuries-old townhouse on Calle Teodosio, which is actually perfect because you’re staying in the real Seville, not some tourist bubble.

Once you’re inside though – wow. The place has this incredible sense of being lived-in but not worn down, you know? I mean, it’s a 3-star property so you’re not getting marble everything, but honestly, that works in its favor. The rooms feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel box. The floors have that satisfying creak of old wood, and the walls are thick enough that you actually get decent sleep despite being right in the heart of everything. Speaking of sleep – and this matters if you’re sensitive to noise – the street itself is pretty quiet at night since it’s residential, but you’ll definitely hear the cathedral bells in the morning. I actually loved that part, felt very authentic.

What really gets me about this place is the location without the location premium, if that makes sense. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the cathedral and maybe seven minutes to the Alcázar, but because you’re on a side street instead of right on the main drag, you’re not paying those inflated prices. Plus – and locals will tell you this – some of the best tapas bars are actually closer to where you’re staying than to the tourist spots. There’s this tiny place around the corner that doesn’t even have a proper sign, just locals packed in there every evening. The staff at Hommyhome will point you toward spots like that if you ask, which I appreciated.

Practically speaking, forget about parking a car anywhere near here – the streets are barely wide enough for two people to pass each other, let alone vehicles. But that’s true for most of old town Seville anyway. The check-in was surprisingly smooth for such a small operation, and they actually remembered my name the whole stay, which never happens at bigger hotels. One small thing – the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms, probably because these old walls weren’t exactly built with internet in mind. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you’re planning to work from your room.

What strikes me most is how this place manages to feel both authentic and comfortable. You’re sleeping in a building that’s probably older than your home country, but you’ve got decent water pressure and air conditioning that actually works. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the basics really well in an incredible setting. If you want to experience Seville like you live there rather than just visiting, this is your spot.

What could be improved: Could have done with a mini safe.

  • Stephanie from Ireland – 25 April 2025 (10/10)

Nice. Bright and comfortable. Good location. We were 20/25.mimutes walk from most tourist locations.

What could be improved: The road outside was being redone so the digging and heavy machinery started at 8am so very noisy. But this couldn't be helped.

  • Marian from Ireland – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

  • Syamsu from Portugal – 2 July 2023 (10/10)

From check in to check out we always felt comfortable in the apartment. The staff (Kasandra) was very helpful and explained everything there was to know about the apartment. She also told us where the closest supermarkets were. We choose this apartment because we were going to the Isla Magica amusement park and the apartment was close enough to the park for us to walk there. The apartment was also close to the city center.

What could be improved: Although the apartment has an agreement with a parking lot (it's about 5-10 minutes walk), having a closer parking place would be nice. We were only in Seville for two nights so we didn't really have big suitcases, but for those staying longer or not light traveler and traveling with car, loading and unloading bigger luggage could be problematic.

  • Bucsa from Romania – 25 April 2023 (9/10)

we love the Apartament overall to stay for three days and the host Manuel was outstanding. Thanks for all support. Gift one small bottle Prosecco , two cold bottles and a lot of coffee , tea . Salt pepper olive oil in the kitchen .

What could be improved: the quality of furniture is very cheap just for used as picture decoration. Sofa was terrible not comfortable but it is what it is . some of the appliance cannot be use .

  • Cristina from Romania – 25 March 2023 (10/10)

We really enjoyed the neighbourhood, it is close to the city center. The agent was nice and recommended us some nice food and places to try in Seville. The building is very nice and quiet.
We also loved the pillows! Very comfy!

What could be improved: Just as a recommandation: It could use more mirrors in the apartment and a bathroom lock.
