You know what struck me first about Hommyhome Vera-Cruz 1900? The name actually makes sense once you’re standing on Jesús de la Vera-Cruz street – it’s this perfectly preserved slice of 1900s Seville that somehow feels like stepping into someone’s elegant family home rather than a typical hotel. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the old town here, and I’m talking about the real deal, not some tourist-trap version of historic Seville. The building itself has that authentic Andalusian charm with the kind of architectural details you just don’t see in modern places – ornate ironwork, traditional tiles, those impossibly high ceilings that keep everything cool even when it’s blazing outside.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that homey feeling (hence the name, I guess) while still being undeniably sophisticated. The rooms have this lived-in elegance – think antique furniture that’s actually comfortable, not just for show, and bathrooms that blend period features with modern functionality. Honestly, the 9-star rating doesn’t surprise me at all because it’s those little touches that matter. Like, the staff actually knows the neighborhood and can tell you which tapas bar three streets over has the best jamón ibérico, or when the cathedral bells are going to be particularly loud (spoiler: Sunday mornings, obviously). Speaking of noise – and this is important if you’re a light sleeper – the old town can get lively, especially on weekends, but the thick walls of these old buildings are surprisingly good at muffling the street sounds.

The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to experience Seville the way locals do. You can walk to the cathedral in about eight minutes, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by the kind of authentic bars and restaurants that don’t have English menus – which is exactly what you want. I loved that you could grab coffee at one of the tiny neighborhood cafés in the morning, then come back in the evening and find completely different spots coming alive. Parking can be tricky in this part of town (actually, let’s be real, it’s nearly impossible), but the hotel staff will sort you out with nearby options, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. The whole experience feels like you’re staying at a well-connected friend’s place rather than just passing through as a tourist – and in a city like Seville, where the real magic happens in those quiet moments between the major sights, that makes all the difference.

  Amazing stay, really clean apartment in the heart of Seville located on a quiet side street. Big, comfortable double bed and really strong air con! Enjoyed the terrace to catch some sun also.

  Spacious, nicely decorated, well equipped studio on quiet street. Close to main shopping area, less than ten minutes easy walk from airport bus stop. 10 to 15 minutes easy walk to Cathedral and Alcazar. Kitchen with dishwasher, stove, fridge, coffee machine and even a kettle. Comfortable bed, good shower. Very good communication.
  
  What could be improved: Didn’t realise it was a ground floor studio until after booking so no balcony or terrace. Room had several large windows but was quite shady, though this would probably be an advantage in hotter months.

  It was very stylish and well equipped. It was centrally located and yet quiet. Spacious. Lovely little private patio area. Lovely bathroom.
  
  What could be improved: It could would have benefitted from cushions on the settee and perhaps throws. It wasn’t warm while we were there and the beds would have benefitted from a warmer quilt.

  Staff support excellent. They met us at apartment and explained everything and answered all questions and concerns and acted as resource for activities and restaurants. We used the washer and dryer. Apartment was fine for 2 people and location convenient. Very positive experience

  This was an exceptional apartment. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The team were always on standby to answer any questions we had. The apartment is located in a very quiet area and all major sites of interest are within a twenty minute radius.
