Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Seville, and Hotel Cervantes actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The location on Calle Cervantes is honestly perfect – you’re right in the heart of the old town without being stuck on one of those tourist-trap streets where you can’t sleep because of the flamenco shows until 2 AM. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral, but tucked away enough that you’ll hear church bells instead of drunk British tourists at night.
The building itself has that authentic Sevillian charm – you know, the kind with the gorgeous tiled entrance and wrought-iron details that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual history. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep the character while making everything work properly. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine (trust me, this matters in August), and the WiFi actually reaches your room – small things that can make or break a stay when you’re dealing with these old buildings. The rooms are well-appointed without being overly fancy, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff actually knows Seville. When I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure. They pointed me toward this little tapas place on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would have found otherwise, and steered me away from the obvious tourist spots near the Cathedral. The front desk guy (I think his name was Miguel?) even drew me a little map showing the best route to avoid the crowds when walking to the Alcázar in the morning. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake. The breakfast was solid too – nothing revolutionary, but good coffee and fresh bread, which is all I really need to start exploring. Parking can be tricky in this part of town, but they’ve got a deal with a garage about two blocks away, and they’ll actually walk you there the first time so you don’t spend twenty minutes driving in circles on those narrow streets. With an 8.7 rating, you’d expect it to be good, but honestly, it exceeded what I thought a 4-star place in the old town would deliver for the price.

Hotel appeared to be very well run, the staff were polite, helpful and efficient. Our room 129 was located on the ground floor close to the breakfast room. It was clean, comfortable with ample storage and a secure safe for valuables / travel documents. The bed was firm, but comfortable and the bathroom had everything we needed. good selection of breakfast items and there was a courtyard directly outside our door with ample seating, tables and parasols for shade which was ideal for an afternoon coffee.
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was exactly as advertised on their information pages. It would have been nice to have a bar / restaurant in the evening, but there are ample facilities close by.
