Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Seville, and Hotel Giralda Center honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk up to Calle Juan de Mata Carriazo – and don’t worry, it’s way easier to find than the name suggests – you’re not in the touristy maze of Santa Cruz or the obvious spots everyone hits. You’re in Nervión, which I mean, locals actually live here. There’s something refreshing about that.

The thing about this place is it gets the balance right between being polished enough for a proper 4-star experience but not so sterile that you feel like you’re in some corporate bubble. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feel – good lighting, comfortable seating where you’d actually want to sit and plan your day, not just rush through. Check-in was smooth, and the staff genuinely seemed to know the city beyond the typical script. When I asked about getting to the cathedral without dealing with the crowds, the guy at reception gave me this route through Plaza de Armas that honestly saved me probably an hour of tourist shuffle.

What really won me over though was the practical stuff that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are well thought out – I had enough space to spread out my things without feeling cramped, and the bed was legitimately comfortable, not just hotel-acceptable. The bathroom had good water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in Spanish hotels), and there were enough outlets in useful places. Small thing, but the curtains actually blocked out light, which is clutch if you’re trying to sleep off some late-night tapas adventures. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet at night, especially compared to staying right in the center where you’re dealing with street noise until all hours.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the cathedral area, but honestly that’s perfect. Close enough that you’re not spending your whole budget on taxis or wrestling with the metro, but far enough that you can escape the tourist intensity when you want to. There’s a decent little café right around the corner that does proper breakfast – not just hotel continental stuff – and a few tapas spots that clearly cater to locals based on the Spanish I heard at every table. The metro stop is maybe 5 minutes away if you want to explore other parts of the city or get to the airport without drama.

I stayed there during shoulder season in October, so I can’t speak to summer crowds, but the whole experience felt relaxed and well-managed. The kind of place where you can tell they’ve figured out the details that make a difference. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Seville, but it does what it does really well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

The location and the facilities at the hotel .The staff were attentive and the swimming pool and terrace was fabulous

What could be improved: I don’t think I would change anything

    What could be improved: nothing

    Wonderful breakfast, very good installations

I liked everything. The receptionist, Natividad, was extremely helpful throughout our stay (so were the others, but with Natividad I interracted the most).
The room was spatious, clean, had all the amenities. At first I was surprised there were no slippers, but then I saw the informative note inviting you to ask at the reception for everything you may need. It's one of their measure to fight waste and pollution.
The breakfast was good and I liked that there were several coffee machines around the restaurant, to prevent queues.
The hotel is located withing walking distance (10-20 min) from the most important tourist attractions.
The hotel deserves all of its four stars.

What could be improved: There was no complimentary bottle of water in the room or a note saying maybe that tap water is safe to drink.

    Very good breakfast
    Spacious and comfortable room
Rooftop pool with nice view and refreshing cooled water for very hot days
Walkable to all main city attraction and multiple great restaurants and bars

    What could be improved: Nothing

The hotel was in a fabulous location, good parking facilities under hotel easy to find. The roof top pool was ideal for cooling off after a long day sight seeing with views of the city. The staff were helpful and welcoming.

What could be improved: Nothing really only small thing would be easier to collect towel by pool rather than reception

The hotel was in a great position, just 5min away from the airport bus station e 5min walking from placa de Espana (we chose it precisely for that as we went to a concert there). The rest of the city center was 10-20min walking away. The room was spacious and modern and had a great bathroom with double sinks. We really appreciated the master switch next to the bed as there were a lot of lights and that switch switched everything off at once. There was also a pillow menu that we did not use.
Although there were 40C outside, we did not need the AC as the whole hotel was well conditioned and as a plus there was a pool on the rooftop.
    We recommend staying here!

What could be improved: Our room was located on the main Street so we could hear the traffic noise, especially ambulances and fire brigades so it was not well isolated. Also from inside the hotel we could hear the opening and closure of doors and people passing by.
The bed was a little stiff and it was 2 single beds placed side by side and not a queen bed.
There was still a light at the entrance that did not switch off at all that we covered with a pillow.

    Amazing roof top infinity pool

  • Paulo from Portugal – 6 June 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is very modern, and has a really good vibe to it. It's very quiet, conveniently located just outside Plaza de Espana and the accomodation, overall, is very good. The pool is also very convenient during hot summer time in Sevilla!

The hotel parking garage is great, with regular sized parking space (which is already a plus versus many others in the city). It also has plenty of (paid) EV charging spots, for those wondering.

The bedroom size is amazing, beds are huge and the bathroom as well.

What could be improved: The bedroom cleaning isn't impressive: room doesn't get vaccumed, and bedroom aren't done properly, quite amateur hour in all honestly.

The pool bar service time is horrendously long: took us more than 45' to get a two club sandwiches. And this happened for two days.

I recently stayed at Hotel Gerald’s Center, a modern hotel in Seville, located about a 15-minute walk from the old city. The location is reasonably convenient, with good access to public transport, though I personally found it a little farther from the historic center than I’d have liked.

The hotel itself is contemporary and well-equipped. The room was large, clean, and comfortably furnished, with a spacious double bed and plenty of pillows. The air conditioning worked excellently, which was much appreciated given the heat. There’s also a large TV, though it wasn’t a smart TV, so I couldn’t connect a device or stream services like Netflix.

A standout feature was the rooftop pool and bar, offering fantastic views over the city—a real highlight during my stay. The onsite restaurant was also quite nice, with a good menu and pleasant atmosphere.

However, there were some hiccups. Unfortunately, Seville experienced a major power outage on the day I arrived. While the manual check-in process was handled efficiently, the hotel’s water pump was down, meaning there was no running water in the bathroom initially. When I requested drinking water, the first response was to buy it myself from a local store—disappointing, especially under the circumstances. After some insistence, the duty manager reluctantly agreed to send a bottle of tap water to my room, though the attitude could have been more customer-focused.

The window in the room was quite small and faced residential buildings, so not much in the way of views. Additionally, it would have been helpful to have bottled drinking water in the room upon arrival, particularly since it wasn’t clear whether tap water was safe to drink.

The breakfast spread was extensive with a huge variety of both hot and cold dishes. Apart from the fact that the juices were not freshly squeezed we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast.

Despite these issues, the rest of the stay was fine.
