You know what struck me first about Hotel Inglaterra? It’s sitting right there on Plaza Nueva like it owns the place – and honestly, it kind of does. I mean, this isn’t some tucked-away boutique hotel you stumble upon by accident. When you walk out the front door, you’re literally in one of Seville’s most gorgeous squares, with those palm trees and the statue of San Fernando right there. The whole scene feels very… well, very Sevillian, if that makes sense.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually in the thick of everything without feeling like you’re trapped in tourist central. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise – it’s the old town, after all – but there’s something oddly comforting about the gentle hum of evening conversations drifting up from the plaza. The rooms themselves have this classic Spanish hotel vibe (think elegant but not trying too hard), and the staff genuinely seems to know their stuff about the city. I remember asking about flamenco shows, and instead of just handing me a brochure, the desk clerk actually sketched out a little map showing me which tablaos were worth the money versus the tourist traps.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it works as a base for exploring. You can walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes – I timed it because I’m obsessive like that – and the Alcázar is maybe ten minutes if you take your time. But here’s the thing locals know: Plaza Nueva is also where you catch the C5 bus line, which is honestly the easiest way to get to places like Triana or even out to the airport without dealing with taxis. The hotel’s location means you’re connected to the whole city, not just the obvious sights. And parking? Well, there’s the underground garage at Plaza Nueva if you’re brave enough to drive in Seville (though honestly, you probably don’t need a car here). The 9-star rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works the way it should, the beds are actually comfortable, and you wake up every morning looking out at one of Spain’s prettier city squares. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a hotel.

  Great location, stunning view from the rooftop bar for drinks. Bed was comfortable and staff very polite. We had to leave early and a picnic breakfast was organised for us to take on the next leg of our trip! This was great, thank you!

  The location of the Hotel was perfect for exploring the City. Rooms where clean and a good size with a high standard of furniture and very comfortable beds. Staff where very helpful and help organise tickets for the attreactions around the City. Rooftop bar gave great views at night.

  The hotel was in an excellent location. Reception/rooms/restaurant/bar were exceptionally smart and well attended.

  This is a beautiful old hotel well located near many of the sites and shopping. The staff were very professional and welcoming. The lobby is very nice and the rooftop Terraza was amazing. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable but quite small. Breakfast was included and was excellent with many options from which to choose. There is a mini bar and coffee maker in the room. The concierge was helpful and friendly. There is onsite valet parking for an extra cost.
  
  What could be improved: The room is small and I could hear my neighbors through the wall. There are few electrical outlets to use and no usb outlets. There was no iron in the room and the one they brought us leaked water.
