Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Seville hotels, but Hotel Las Casas de la Judería hit different from the moment I walked through those heavy wooden doors. It’s tucked right on Santa María la Blanca – literally a two-minute walk from the old Jewish quarter’s main synagogue – and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You’re in the heart of the Barrio Santa Cruz, which means you can stumble back from dinner without dealing with taxis or figuring out the bus system (though Seville’s buses are actually pretty decent).

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve preserved the whole labyrinth feel of these old Sevillan houses. I mean, it’s not just one building – it’s like four or five traditional houses connected by these narrow passages and hidden courtyards that’ll have you completely turned around in the best possible way. My room overlooked one of the interior patios, and honestly? The sound of the fountain at night was perfect white noise. Way better than dealing with street noise, which can be brutal in this part of town during peak season. The rooms themselves feel authentically Spanish without being too museum-y, if you know what I mean. Decent AC too, which – trust me – you’ll appreciate in July.

Here’s the thing though: parking is going to be your biggest headache. The hotel can arrange something, but it’s not cheap and you’re better off just leaving your car outside the city and walking or taking the tram in. The staff actually knows this and won’t try to oversell you on it, which I appreciated. They’re pretty straightforward about what works and what doesn’t. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk folks speak solid English, though they clearly enjoy practicing if your Spanish is decent. The breakfast situation is… well, it’s fine. Nothing spectacular, but they do proper coffee and the orange juice is fresh (this is Seville, after all).

You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Cathedral – I timed it – and even closer to some of the better tapas spots that aren’t completely overrun with tourists. There’s this tiny place around the corner on Ximénez de Enciso that locals actually go to, and the hotel staff will point you toward spots like that if you ask. The whole area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM except on weekends, when you might hear some late-night revelry from the plaza, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up unless you’re a really light sleeper. Actually, I kind of liked it – felt like being part of the neighborhood rather than just passing through it.

The property is a maze of tunnels that takes you through amazing courtyards , our room had a wonderful feel about it.

What could be improved: The pool area has very limited space and so the pool beds were hard to find, I think that people should not be allowed to reserve beds with towels if they are not using the beds .

It was fabulous. Lots of little nooks & crannies. Lovely roof top pool. Very relaxing piano bar. Watch out. The mojitos are very strong

Beautiful hotel that had so much history and every room so interesting!

What could be improved: Besides a few stairs here and there, it was part of the hotels charm.
