Hotel Description
So I stumbled across HOUSE Sevillana Parking last spring when I was desperately searching for a place to stay in Seville’s old town that wouldn’t leave me circling the maze of narrow streets for hours looking for parking. The name pretty much says it all – and honestly, that’s exactly what sold me on it. You know how stressful it can be driving into the historic center with all those pedestrian zones and confusing signage? Well, this place actually delivers on the parking promise, which is rarer than you’d think in this part of the city.
The hotel sits on Calle Socorro, which is this lovely little street that feels authentically Sevillano without being overrun by tour groups. I mean, you’re still right in the thick of things – the Cathedral is maybe a ten-minute walk, and you can easily wander over to the Santa Cruz neighborhood for tapas – but Socorro has this more residential vibe that I really appreciated. The building itself has that classic Andalusian charm you’re hoping for, with the traditional white walls and those gorgeous ceramic tiles in the entrance that catch the light just right in the late afternoon. What struck me most was how the staff seemed to actually live in Seville (not just work there temporarily), so they’d casually mention things like which flamenco shows were worth your time or where to get the best montaditos that weren’t in any guidebook.
The rooms are solid – nothing too fancy, but everything works properly and the AC is strong enough to handle those brutal July afternoons when the temperature hits 40 degrees. I stayed in one of the street-facing rooms and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was at night, especially compared to some places I’ve stayed near the more touristy plazas where you get the late-night revelers until 3 AM. The bed was actually comfortable (hotel beds in Spain can be hit or miss, in my experience), and they had these thick curtains that completely blocked out the morning sun, which was perfect since I tend to stay out late exploring the tapas scene. One small thing that impressed me – the shower had proper water pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many charming old buildings in Seville struggle with that. The whole place just felt well-maintained without being sterile, if that makes sense. It’s got that lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some generic chain hotel. Plus, and this is key, when you’re ready to leave, you’re not stressed about navigating your rental car through those impossibly narrow medieval streets because you can actually park here and walk everywhere that matters.
