Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Seville, and honestly? The Imagen Metrosol Deluxe kind of caught me off guard. I mean, you walk down Calle Imagen expecting another decent but forgettable place, and then you step inside and it’s… well, it’s actually pretty impressive. The lobby hits that sweet spot between modern and warm – you know what I mean? Not so sleek that it feels cold, but polished enough that you feel like you made a good choice.

What really sold me on this place wasn’t the room (though it was solid – good AC, which you absolutely need in Seville summers, and a bathroom that didn’t make me want to shower with flip-flops on). It was the location and how the staff actually seemed to get what travelers need. You’re right in the heart of the old town, so you can stumble back from a late dinner on Calle Betis without dealing with taxis or figuring out the bus system. The cathedral bells will wake you up if you’re a light sleeper – just saying – but honestly, after a day of wandering those narrow streets and maybe one too many manzanillas, you probably won’t mind. And here’s something I appreciated: the front desk guy actually drew on my map, showing me which tapas bars the locals hit versus the tourist traps. That’s the kind of thing that makes a difference when you’re trying to eat well without getting completely ripped off.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – nothing revolutionary, but everything works and it’s clean in that Spanish way where even the corners look scrubbed. I stayed there during Easter week (probably not my smartest move timing-wise, but whatever), and while the whole city was absolutely packed, the hotel felt like a calm bubble. You could hear the processions passing by, which was actually pretty magical at night, but the windows are good enough that you can sleep through it if you need to. One small thing – parking is going to be a nightmare during busy times, so maybe plan on walking more than you think. But really, that’s Seville for you, and you’ll end up discovering places you’d never find otherwise. The 9.6 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it gets the important stuff right and the location alone makes it worth considering if you want to really experience the old town rather than just visit it.
