You know what struck me first about La Casa del Escultor? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – this place genuinely feels like an artist’s hideaway tucked into one of Seville’s most atmospheric corners. I mean, you’re literally on Calle Martínez Montañés (named after a famous Baroque sculptor, which explains everything), and the whole street has this creative, slightly bohemian vibe that most tourists completely miss. The hotel sits right in the heart of the old town, but it’s on one of those narrow side streets where you’ll hear church bells instead of traffic – honestly, that alone is worth the booking fee.

The building itself has character in spades, which you’d expect from a 4-star place with an 8.6 rating, but it’s not stuffy or overly polished like some of the bigger hotels near the cathedral. There’s this wonderful balance between historic charm and actually functional amenities. The rooms have these gorgeous high ceilings and original architectural details that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s carefully restored family home rather than a generic hotel. I particularly loved how they’ve preserved the old tiles and stonework – you can actually run your hands along walls that are centuries old. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too, which makes such a difference. They’ll tell you which tapas bar around the corner is packed with locals (not the obvious tourist trap two blocks over) and when to visit the nearby Plaza del Salvador to catch the evening light just right.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the old town without feeling overwhelmed by it. You’re a five-minute walk from the major sights – the cathedral, the Alcázar, all that – but you’re also surrounded by actual neighborhood life. There’s a little grocery store practically next door where the owner will chat with you in broken English if you’re brave enough to try, and the morning sounds are just perfect: footsteps on cobblestones, distant conversations, the occasional motorbike echoing off the narrow walls. Parking can be tricky (honestly, just forget about driving in this part of Seville), but there are decent options nearby if you absolutely need a car. The check-in process was smooth, no weird surprises or hidden fees, and the whole place just feels… well, authentic isn’t quite right because that word gets thrown around too much, but it feels like Seville. Like someone who actually loves this city decided to create a place where visitors could experience it properly, instead of just passing through.

  Ubicacion perfecta para hacer algo de turisteo por Sevilla. La anfitriona encantadora, solo puso facilidades. El apartamento está bien, es amplio. La ducha muy bien. Splits de frio y calor por toda la casa. Muy recomendable!
