You know what caught me off guard about La Casa del Pintor? The name literally means “The Painter’s House,” and honestly, it delivers on that promise in ways I wasn’t expecting. Walking up Calle Santas Patronas – which, by the way, is this narrow cobblestone street that feels like it hasn’t changed since the 16th century – you almost miss the entrance because it blends so seamlessly with the old Sevillian architecture around it. The building itself has this weathered charm that screams authentic barrio, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The apartments here actually feel like someone’s carefully curated home rather than your typical hotel setup. Each unit has these gorgeous original tile floors (the kind that stay cool even during Seville’s brutal summer afternoons) and walls decorated with local artwork that changes periodically – apparently they work with emerging Andalusian artists, which is pretty cool. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too; I ended up cooking dinner a couple nights using ingredients from the tiny grocery store just around the corner on Calle Águilas. The location is what really makes this place special though – you’re deep enough in the old town to feel like a local, but you can still walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes. Plus, you’re right between two of my favorite tapas spots: El Rinconcillo (which claims to be the oldest bar in Seville) and Casa Román, where locals actually go.

Here’s the thing about staying here – mornings are magical because you wake up to the sound of church bells from about four different churches, but it’s not annoying, it’s actually kind of romantic. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood; when I asked about parking, they didn’t just give me generic advice but walked me to the nearest spot and explained the resident permit system. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone, but everything just works. The WiFi is solid (important if you’re working remotely), the air conditioning actually cools the space, and the beds are comfortable without being too soft. I will say the stairs are narrow and steep, so if you’re hauling massive suitcases, prepare for a workout. But honestly, that’s just part of the charm of staying in a building that’s probably older than most countries. The whole experience feels like you’re borrowing a friend’s apartment in the heart of one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, and isn’t that exactly what good travel should feel like?

  The location is perfect, the place was nice and clean, and also big, getting inside was easy, nice restaurants at walking distance we love to stay there
  
  What could be improved: The shower didn’t have curtains, and somehow I pressed the wrong button, which activated the handheld sprayer. Because of its position, the toilet paper ended up completely soaked.

  The location of the appartement was great! I highly recommend it. The host also responded quickly to our messages and even managed to arrange a meet-up on short-notice when my friend forgot her e-reader and we had to leave to the airport. Overall, I really recommend it and would stay again!
  
  What could be improved: Minor point: The mattrasses were comfortable, but I did not like the bedding, especially the matrass cover. My friend's bed had a more comfortable cover.

  Nice and comfortable, very clean, renovated apartment located in the short walking distance from all attractions, groceries and restaurants, but on a quiet street. Kitchen equipped with all needed utensils (Nespresso coffee machine included). Very comfortable beds and pillows. Big and nice terrace with chairs, sunbeds and sadly not working from late autumn till early spring pool (but we knew about that, so it's not a disadvantage). Very nice, proactive and helpful personnel. We've received detailed check-in instructions on the day of the arrival – everything was very clear, so no problem to get inside. Perfect place to stay during visit in sunny and green Sevilla. Absolutely recommend!

  The location was perfect. Easy access/check-in with digital code. There is a little space in front of the building to load/unload. We then parked our car for free on Isla de la Cartuja and then took a Sevici bike to go to the appartment.
  The decoration and furniture was modern and stylish. Kitchen has everything you need.
  
  What could be improved: It's quite the dark place (not much light comes in). Also, it feels a bit humid/damp inside as there is not much air going through the appartment.
  The bathroom could use more hooks and the ventilation should be checked as this didn't work.
