Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked up to La Corrala de Triana on Calle Pureza – it’s tucked into this narrow street that you’d easily miss if you weren’t looking for it. But that’s actually part of its charm, because once you’re inside, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special. The building itself has this traditional Andalusian courtyard feel (hence the “corrala” name), and I mean, you’re literally living like locals do in one of Seville’s most authentic neighborhoods. Triana isn’t touristy in that overwhelming way the Cathedral area can be – it’s where actual sevillanos go for their morning coffee and evening tapas.

What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so close to everything that matters. You can walk to the Guadalquivir in maybe three minutes, and the Puente de Triana puts you right into the historic center whenever you want the full tourist experience. But honestly? Some of my best moments were just wandering around the neighborhood itself. There’s this amazing ceramics scene here – you know, the traditional azulejo tiles – and you’ll find workshops that have been family-run for generations just a few blocks away. The apartment I stayed in (number 15) had these gorgeous traditional touches, high ceilings that actually keep things cool even in late spring, and the kind of authentic details you just don’t get in those sterile hotel chains near the main attractions.

I’ll be real with you – parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, because these old Triana streets weren’t exactly designed for cars. But that’s true for most of Seville’s best neighborhoods, and there are options nearby if you know where to look. The trade-off is so worth it though, because you’re staying somewhere with genuine character. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be fancy in that generic luxury hotel way, but everything works beautifully and feels thoughtful. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the morning sounds here are just perfect. Instead of traffic, you get the clip-clop of the occasional horse carriage heading to the river, people chatting as they head to work, maybe some flamenco guitar drifting from somewhere nearby. It feels like the Seville you actually came to experience, not the sanitized version. If you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it, this is your spot.

  I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone thinking of making a booking. The host was so helpful, the location is great and we slept even better than in our own beds at home! The area felt very safe as was a perfect location for exploring most of Seville on foot.
