You know what caught me off guard about Las Casas de Moratin? I was expecting another converted mansion trying too hard to be boutique-y, but this place actually gets it right. Walking up to the entrance on Calle Moratin, you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Seville’s old quarter – I mean, you can practically hear the cathedral bells from your room, and the Santa Cruz neighborhood is right there when you step outside.

The building itself has this understated elegance that feels authentically Sevillian rather than Instagram-perfect. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed – not huge, but they use the space well, and honestly, the beds are fantastic (I’m picky about this stuff). What really sold me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The air conditioning works properly – crucial in Seville summers – and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which sounds boring but you’ll appreciate it after a day of walking those cobblestone streets. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too; they pointed me toward this tiny tapas place on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals.

Here’s the thing about the location though – it’s perfectly positioned but you need to know what you’re getting into. Parking is basically impossible on the street (welcome to Seville’s old town), so either use their garage or prepare to walk from wherever you find a spot. The flip side is that you’re a five-minute stroll from the cathedral and Alcázar, and even closer to all those winding streets where the real Seville happens. I loved being able to duck back to the hotel for a siesta – very Spanish of me, I know – then head out again for evening tapas without any planning. The neighborhood gets lively at night, especially on weekends, but it’s the good kind of lively, not obnoxious tourist chaos. Actually, staying here made me feel more like I was living in Seville temporarily rather than just passing through, which is exactly what you want in a place like this.

  Fantastic location, located close to everything you need and even had a grocery within walking distance. Tomas was very helpful and had good recommendations of places to go and to answer questions.

  The apartment was perfect for us a group of 7 friends. It’s basic but great value for money. The location is very central, and we loved that there were 3 bathrooms!

  Super clean spacious apartment duplex right in the centre of Seville. Very quiet yet everything is close by. Tomas is super helpful and responsive. A great stay for a special family reunion.

  They ended up giving us 2 apartments joined together which made is very spacious and comfortable. Our group would have been cramped otherwise. The apartments were well stocked.
  
  What could be improved: Apartments are old, some equipment didn't work and the flooring is uneven and looks old. If you go towards the main road, it's nice but if you walk on the smaller roads, they can be dirty and not pleasant.

  Perfect location, the host is a giving person who do the extra mile to help you spend a great time in Sevilla, the decorations and set up of the house was really good, highly recommend it.
