You know what struck me first about this place? The address actually means something here – Calle General Castaños puts you right in the thick of Seville’s old quarter, but on one of those streets where you’re not dodging tour groups every five minutes. I mean, you’re still close enough to stumble back from the Cathedral after a long day, but far enough that you can actually hear yourself think.

The loft itself honestly feels like someone took a traditional Sevillian building and gave it this really thoughtful modern update. When I walked in, there was this great contrast between the old architectural bones – you know, those thick walls and high ceilings that keep things cool even when it’s blazing outside – and these clean, contemporary touches that don’t feel forced. The space has character without trying too hard, if that makes sense. What really got me was the natural light; these old buildings can be pretty dark inside, but whoever designed this place figured out how to make it feel bright and airy.

Actually, the location is where this place really shines. You’re walking distance from Plaza del Salvador (which, honestly, is where a lot of locals hang out instead of the more touristy squares), and there’s this little tapas spot around the corner that I probably never would’ve found if I wasn’t staying right there. The narrow streets mean it’s quiet at night – well, Seville-quiet, which still includes some distant flamenco and people chatting on balconies. Parking is… well, it’s the old town, so forget about driving here. But the train station’s close enough for a reasonable taxi ride, and once you’re settled in, everything’s walkable anyway. I spent most mornings grabbing coffee from this tiny place two streets over and just wandering until I hit something interesting – the Alcázar, the Jewish quarter, those little hidden plazas that make Seville feel like a secret.

The whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a hotel, which I think is exactly what they were going for. There’s attention to detail without being fussy about it – good coffee setup, actually comfortable furniture, decent wifi that doesn’t cut out when you need it most. Honestly, with that 9.5 rating, I was expecting to find something wrong just to balance things out, but the place delivers. It’s the kind of spot where you end up staying in for an extra hour in the morning because it’s just pleasant to be there, then spend your evening planning how to come back to Seville sooner rather than later.

  Very spacious!! Location to cathedral, Alcázar, bull ring, Santa Cruz, and flamenco shows all with in walkable distance.
  
  What could be improved: Did not care for the bug/ insect spray odor upon entering building. And unfortunately the laundry dryer was not functioning but a drying rack was available.

  Good and clear communication prior to our stay with host Nacho. We were kindly received by him and informed about all the sights, restaurants etc. in Sevilla. A beautiful large apartment with all modern conveniences situated in the old city of Sevilla.
