You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from another boutique hotel in Seville’s old quarter, but Loving Seville San Juan 3 actually surprised me. The location on Calle San Juan is pretty sweet – you’re basically in the heart of everything without being right on top of the tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM (well, not too much anyway).

The building itself has that authentic Sevillian charm – thick walls that actually keep the summer heat out, which honestly is a godsend if you’re visiting between June and September. The rooms are thoughtfully done, not trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect but comfortable in a way that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – the windows are proper double-glazed, so even though you’re in the old town where delivery trucks start rumbling around 7 AM, you can actually sleep in if you want to. The air conditioning works properly too, which… let’s just say that’s not always a given in these converted historic buildings.

Here’s the thing about this particular street – it’s one of those little arteries that locals actually use, so you’ll see real Sevillanos heading to work in the morning rather than just tour groups. There’s a tiny bar around the corner where the coffee is ridiculously good and costs about two euros, and honestly, that’s worth knowing because hotel coffee is fine but nothing special. The staff at Loving Seville seem to get that their guests want insider tips rather than just pointing you toward the obvious attractions. They’ll tell you when the neighborhood market runs (Tuesday and Friday mornings, by the way) and which tapas places nearby are actually worth your time versus the tourist traps. The whole experience feels less like staying at a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and knew how to stock a proper minibar. With a 9.1 rating, I get why people keep coming back. It’s not flashy or trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the stuff that actually matters when you’re exploring a city like Seville.

  The property is in a fantastic location, the Alfafa Plaza is steps away and has everything you need from bars, restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacy, grocery store, ice cream shop and a fabulous Asian restaurant if looking for a change from delicious tapas. The property is small but comfortable and has everything you need.

  The property is close to good restaurants (Cervecería Salmedina, Alfafa 8) and slightly removed (but a quick walk) from the overly touristy area near the cathedral. Even though there is no front desk, the electronic keypad made arrival/entry simple and the hosts were always quick to respond on WhatsApp. It would be an excellent property for extended stays or people who want to cook.
