I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Lukanda Luxury on Calle Hernando Colón. The street itself is pretty narrow (typical old Seville, you know), and from the outside it looks like just another renovated townhouse. But man, once you step inside, it’s like someone took all the best parts of Andalusian architecture and gave them a really thoughtful modern update.

The thing about staying in Seville’s old town is that you’re either going to be right in the thick of everything or you’re going to be dealing with tourist chaos 24/7. Lukanda somehow manages to thread that needle perfectly. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral – I mean, you can actually see the Giralda from some of the upper floor windows – but the street itself stays surprisingly quiet, even during Semana Santa when the whole city goes absolutely mad. I think it’s because Calle Hernando Colón doesn’t really lead anywhere touristy, so you get foot traffic from locals heading to the little tapas places nearby rather than tour groups dragging suitcases over cobblestones at 6 AM.

What really got me about this place was the attention to detail that actually matters. The AC works properly (crucial in July, trust me), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this is key – the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors. The rooms have this warm, lived-in feel with exposed beams and tiles that look original but aren’t falling apart. They’ve kept the traditional shutters, which is smart because they actually block out light better than curtains, and there’s something satisfying about opening them in the morning to let in that golden Seville light. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and honestly, the water pressure is better than what I have at home.

The staff here gets it – they’re not hovering, but they know their stuff. When I mentioned I was looking for a good place for breakfast that wasn’t full of tourists, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the nearest café. He actually walked me outside and pointed down toward Plaza del Salvador, explaining which places the locals go to and what time to avoid the crowds. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just can’t get from a chain hotel.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot. Sure, you’ll walk everywhere (parking in the old town is basically impossible anyway), but everything worth seeing is within fifteen minutes on foot. The Alcázar, the Cathedral, those gorgeous hidden plazas you stumble across – it’s all right there. And when you need a break from sightseeing, you can actually retreat to somewhere that feels like a refuge rather than another tourist trap. The neighborhood has a couple of excellent little bars where you can grab a proper tortilla española and a beer without paying cathedral-adjacent prices.

Look, if you want a resort with three pools and a kids’ club, this isn’t your place. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels authentically Sevillian while still having all the modern comforts, Lukanda Luxury delivers. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

  The apartment was so lovely. We even had our own lift directly into the apartment. It was very well equipped and a large apartment with air con!

  Gorgeous apartment and so close to all of the main attractions in Seville. Really comfortable with everything you could need!

  Such a beautiful apartment, very clean and in an incredible location. Every place we wanted to go to (Cathedral, Alcázar, Triana) was easy walking distance and there were a lot of great tapas bars nearby.

  We loved our stay at Lukanda Luxury. The location is fantastic! It was nice to have a little home away from home for a few days. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. They provided great recommendations and service. I hope we have the chance to visit again.

  I love this property. It’s nicely designed, spacious and in the heart of Sevilla old town. Very close to restaurants and Sevilia Cathedral. There’s a store room at the ground floor, where you could store luggage after check out.

  Nicely decorated and very central location. The cathedral is at the end of the street and its a busy district with plenty of restaurants and cafes. Filo next door is good for breakfast. Shutters on all the windows make it quiet at night.

  Spacious and clean. Central location minutes from the town and taxi rank close by which was great for getting to the station early in the morning.
