Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Magdalena Plaza? The fact that you’re literally on Calle Murillo – I mean, you step out the front door and you’re already in the heart of Seville’s old town, not some “old town adjacent” situation like so many hotels claim. When I say heart, I’m talking about being a two-minute walk from the cathedral and practically next door to the Real Alcázar gardens. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist trap hotel” – it’s actually got character without trying too hard.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep the authentic Andalusian feel without sacrificing modern comfort. The rooms are honestly well-appointed (though not huge – this is a historic building after all), and the air conditioning actually works, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Seville summers. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this tiny tapas place on Calle Mateus Gago that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I needed to know about parking (because driving in Seville’s old town is basically a nightmare), they sorted me out with a garage nearby instead of just shrugging.

The location means you’ll hear some street noise – it’s a living, breathing part of the city, not some sanitized hotel district. But that’s also what makes it special. You can walk to basically everything worth seeing, and in the evenings when the tour groups have cleared out, you get to experience what the old town actually feels like for locals. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re someone who wants to really be in Seville rather than just visiting it. Just don’t expect a resort-style pool or anything like that – this is about being right where the action is, with solid service and rooms that actually feel Spanish rather than generically European.

  What could be improved: picking the keys out of the drop box was difficult to see even with light and phone.

  It was spacious enough for two ppl and the location was excellent.

  Unit was well appointed and generally clean although there was hair and dust in corners.
  Liked the instructions on dining places to check out.
  Location was convenient though in future, I would target staying at a place closer to Setas de Sevilla, which was more happening and had a lot of eateries in the area.
  
  What could be improved: Given the price, I would have expected a little more and was disappointed for the following reasons:
  (1) Provided one key which was inconvenient if you have multiple people who are staying and are on different schedules – cumbersome dealing with only one set of keys.
  (2) Building hallway was dingy and unwelcoming, dark at night (until motion sensor light comes on) which was scary for a long woman at night though safe.
  (3) Shower didn't drain well. Hosts unresponsive when I reached out to inquire getting assistance to resolve water draining issue.
  (4) At first glance, it had everything but barely supplied sufficient toiletries for a week's stay – gave enough for 2 days. Also, didn't supply a sponge to wash dishes though there was dish detergent. Dishwasher but no dishwasher detergent.
  (5) Laundry instructions was poor – took awhile to figure out what was optimal for laundry. Use the 180 or 240 minute cycle for combo wash/dry. Shorter cycles only washed clothes – shortest cycle didn't do anything but steam clothes.
  (6) Lack on linen – Was only given 1 towel for every person staying at unit. Would have been nice to have 1 extra bath towel while waiting for towels to wash and dry. Better off staying at a hotel which is not scimpy on toiletries and towels.
  (7) Dark lit bathroom – some might say the bathroom was romantically lit but it was dark although modern.
  
  Would not stay again as there are better values elsewhere – we were traveling with another couple who had a lovely 3 bedroom apartment that cost less.

  Spotless property, spacious and modern. Very good communication throughout. We were met on arrival, keys handed over and everything explained to us. Good location. Duque Plaza and Plaza de Armas bus stops close by. 15-20 mins walk to historic centre and main sights. Loads of restaurants nearby. Carrefour, Les Corte Engles, Aldi and other supply stores within 2 mins of apartment.

  New and cozy apartment in a great location to visit the Town by feet, close to supermarket, bars and the main attractions.
  The bed is very comfortable.

  Great location, close to everything (restaurants, attractions) , and very quiet at night.
  Very close to a taxi stand if you need transport to the airport or elsewhere.
  Very clean.
  Apartment is very new (or certainly looks that way 🙂 )
  Airco/heating works fine (which we did not need a lot but I am sure is important in summer)
  
  What could be improved: Would be nice if there was a way to store your luggage after checkout
  (Perhaps offer free storage at green lockers (very close) for users of the apartment)
  Minor thing, the squeaky door of the bathroom needs some oil 🙂

  Very good place. Appartement renovated super clean and confortable. Plaza Magdalena super quiet and close to places of interest. Very good isolation phonique. Kitchen has everything that matter.

  Muito limpo e confortável, bem decorado e ótima localização.
  
  What could be improved: A cama não é de casal, são duas camas de solteiro juntas. Entretanto, não é um problema pois de qualquer maneira as camas são muito confortáveis.
