Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from Magno Apartments Castelar when I first walked up to the building on Calle de Castelar – I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow street in the old quarter where you can practically touch the buildings on both sides. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special. You’re literally in the heart of Seville’s most atmospheric neighborhood, where the morning light filters through between ancient walls and you can hear the cathedral bells without having to crane your neck to see the Giralda tower.

The apartments themselves are actually really well thought out – not just your typical hotel room with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. These feel like actual living spaces, which makes sense since you’re staying in what’s essentially a converted historic building. The kitchenettes are compact but functional (I managed to make decent coffee and keep jamón and cheese for quick breakfasts), and the bathrooms are surprisingly modern considering you’re surrounded by centuries-old architecture. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Old Town can be pretty lively, especially around Plaza del Salvador just a few blocks away, but Castelar is just residential enough that you’re not dealing with bar noise until 3 AM. The AC works well too, which honestly became crucial during my July visit when Seville was hitting those brutal 40°C afternoons.

The location thing is hard to overstate without sounding like every other hotel description, but here’s the reality: you can walk to basically everything worth seeing in about ten minutes. The cathedral and Alcázar are maybe a five-minute stroll through these incredible narrow streets where you’ll stumble across hidden plazas and tiny tapas bars that locals actually use. I found myself coming back to Bar Eslava (practically around the corner) almost every evening because their montaditos were ridiculous and the owner started recognizing me by day three. Plaza de la Encarnación with the Metropol Parasol – you know, those giant wooden mushroom things – is close enough that I’d grab coffee there most mornings before the crowds hit. And if you’re planning to explore beyond the center, the tram stop at Plaza Nueva is maybe a seven-minute walk, which gets you to Triana or connects you to the metro. Parking is going to be a nightmare if you’re driving (like everywhere in Old Town), but honestly, once you’re here you won’t need a car anyway. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense – it’s one of those places that just works without trying too hard to impress you with fancy lobby nonsense.

  The location is excellent: just step out to the street and get around a corner and you are having multiple options where to eat! Still there is not so much traffic (car nor pedestrian) on the street where the apartment itself is located. All the major tourist attractions within walking distance. The apartment has three bedrooms which are all located in the different corners of the apartment making thus it comfortable for extended families to settle in.
  
  What could be improved: Please be aware that the front door is a direct access from the street (there is a gate next to the walkway, but all the noices are coming thru – although it is not a busy street). The comfy sofabeds are in need for some tlc.

  What could be improved: One of the bedrooms is right on the street and is very noisy especially in the morning as you wake up due to the noise from the cars. Just outside is a waste container which is collected every morning very early and this wakes you up unfortunately.
  The air conditioner is very noisy.

  Property was in close proximity to everything. Spaciousness, clean and good value.
  
  What could be improved: Water pressure was terrible, multiple people could not take showers at one time. Also the apartment above us was being renovated so the noise was terrible from 7-5. We had to buy extra towels

  Property was very spacious and almost new. Very fully equipped with fridge, dishwasher, oven. Plenty of high quality cutlery. The beautiful constructed cabinetry and designer sanitary ware deserve special mention. Location was very good close to lots of excellent high quality food choices and major tourist attractions. Wifi was excellent and the smart tv provided was also very useful. The whole property felt like you were staying in a show apartment. The walk in wardrobe in the Master Bedroom was nice as was all the furniture. The area felt very safe. Ample extra pillows, towels, toilet paper, etc were provided in the store room connected to the Master Bedroom. Although expensive, I rate this property a 10 due to it being new, the size of the property and the amenities provided.
  
  What could be improved: Very minor annoyances but although the printed manual was provided, the air conditioning was finicky to control. I wanted to place the Fan on Low but it was always set to Auto so either working at full blast or off once it reached the set temperature. The apartment looks beautiful but to emphasize the show unit feel there is a lack of places to hang towels in the master bathroom. Little studs are provided which look beautiful but unfortunately the towels kept falling off. Also the bedroom doors cannot be locked.
  As the apartment is on the ground floor and there are many bars nearby, there can be noise from passers-by especially on weekends.

  Awesome….. For what we paid (220) , it was a steal. Extremely spacious and clean. Even with 6 people, you won't feel cramped. Location is excellent. Quite street, but less than 10 min walk to the Seville Cathedral (center of tourist area). The management company is very responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The water heater is a little small for 3 bathrooms.

  Brand new, clean, spacious, conveniently located – very comfortable and we wished we could have stayed longer! Very smooth arrangement for arrival and also recommendations provided for sightseeing and dining.
  
  What could be improved: We really liked the property. But for such a property, it was unusual that we had to rummage for towels, floor mats and toilet rolls from the store room – not a big deal at all – just that the service could have been that bit more complete. Touches they should consider to make guests feel welcome – a box of chocolates / biscuits, more coffee capsules than 3 for 5 guests and maybe nicer toiletries.
