Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and Magno Apartments Gallos honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk up to Calle Gallos 24, you might think “wait, this narrow street?” – but that’s actually part of what makes it perfect. You’re literally in the heart of the old town, I mean proper old town, where the streets have that worn cobblestone feel and you can hear church bells echoing off the buildings in the morning.

The thing about these apartments is they get the balance right between having your own space and still feeling connected to the city. I stayed here during April (which, pro tip, is absolutely the time to visit Seville), and my apartment had these traditional shutters that you could throw open to let in that perfect Andalusian light. The furniture isn’t trying too hard to be boutique-y – it’s comfortable and clean, sort of modern but with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re in some generic chain place. What really sold me was the kitchen setup. I mean, you don’t always want to eat out every meal, especially when the local market on Calle Feria is just a fifteen-minute walk away, and you can actually cook with proper counter space and decent equipment.

Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in Seville’s old town – parking is basically impossible, but honestly, you don’t want a car anyway. From Magno Apartments, you can walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes (I timed it), the Alcázar is practically around the corner, and when you want to escape the tourist crowds, you just duck down one of these side streets and suddenly you’re watching locals play cards outside a tiny bar that doesn’t even have a sign. The noise level surprised me too – I was expecting typical city sounds, but Calle Gallos is just residential enough that evenings are actually quiet. Well, except for Friday nights when the university students get a bit enthusiastic, but even then it dies down by midnight. The staff knows their stuff about the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this little tapas place on Calle Pérez Galdós that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of those meals you remember years later. That 8.9 rating makes sense when you add up all these small things that just work.

    Good, quiet but fairly central location in Sevilla, one of a handful of flats in a building. Newly renovated (as part of a total restructuring of the building) the flat is tastefully decorated and spacious. the kitchenette is well equipped and the bathroom modern (very nice shower and good water pressure). The bedroom (which also boasts a bathtub) is very quiet and the mattress very comfortable, firm without being hard. In fact the best we ever found away from home.

    Very comfy night sleep. The apartment was very smart and had a great outdoor area. The rooftop area was also great – it looks like they were building a pool which isn’t quite ready yet. Great facilities in the apartment – dishwasher, washing machine and tablets to use!

    The location was good, and the place was very clean. Hosts were very responsive to emails and texts.

    What could be improved: The check-in process was chaotic. There were multiple couples booked into one room and we received a phone call that we would have to move rooms several hours after arrival. Additionally, several people tried to get into our room throughout the day indicating that instructions for room locations were not adequate. Lastly, the shower absolutely soaks the entire bathroom when used.
