Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Mata Alameda Skyview, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow street entrance on Calle Mata. But man, once you get up to those higher floors, the whole thing clicks into place. The “Skyview” part isn’t just marketing fluff – you actually get these sweeping views over Seville’s old town that make you want to grab a coffee and just sit there for way too long.

The location is what really sold me on this place, though. You’re literally in the heart of the old town, which means you can stumble back from a late dinner without worrying about taxis or metro schedules. I mean, the Cathedral is maybe a seven-minute walk, and you can hear the bells if you’re on the terrace in the morning – which is either charming or annoying depending on how much you drank the night before. The street itself is pretty quiet, actually, since it’s residential rather than one of those tourist thoroughfares where you get groups wandering around at midnight. Pro tip: if you’re driving, forget about parking right outside. There’s a public garage about three blocks away near Plaza de Armas, but honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in.

What I really appreciated was how the Valcambre folks seem to get that travelers want modern comfort without losing that Andalusian character. The rooms aren’t huge – this is old town Seville, after all, not some sprawling resort – but they’re thoughtfully laid out. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in summer, trust me), and the beds are properly comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. The bathrooms are surprisingly well-designed too, with decent water pressure and space to actually spread out your stuff. You know what surprised me most? The WiFi is legitimately fast throughout the building, even up on the top floors where the views are best. I ended up working from the little terrace area a couple mornings because the connection was better than my apartment back home. The breakfast isn’t anything revolutionary, but it’s fresh and local – proper jamón, good cheese, decent coffee. They seem to source from vendors in the neighborhood rather than bulk suppliers, which you can taste. Staff-wise, they’re genuinely helpful without being overly formal. When I mentioned wanting to find a specific type of local olive oil to take home, the guy at reception actually drew me a little map to his family’s preferred shop. That’s the kind of touch that makes a place memorable.

  Great location and terrace. Highly recommended.
  
  What could be improved: The dishwasher filter definitely needs to be cleaned. The dishes were all quite dirty when we arrived. The place only provided one dishwashing tablet for our stay, which seemed stingy for a week stay. The check in could have been smoother as we were waiting outside for more than 10 minutes in the Seville summer heat without a direct contact number.

  There is nothing I can fault about this property. I stayed here with my mum when we visited my brother who lives in Seville. It was absolutely perfect and we will definiteky stay here again.
  
  From the moment we landed at the airport the host was in touch with with, asking our arrival time so someone could meet us. We arrived before check in and even so we were still given a tour and allowed to leave our bags in the apartment before it was ready. The host was so friendly and showed us how to use all the facilities and answered our questions. The host even checked in with us half way through our stay via watsapp to make sure everything was going well.
  
  We felt so at home – even down to the small details of leaving shampoo in the showers and a washing machine pill, dishwasher tablet and clothes / tea towels for the kitchen.
  
  I really could not recommend this apartment enough. As I said – we will be coming back every time we come to visit my brother!

  What could be improved: The only downside was because of location near alameda it was slightly noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper perhaps bring ear plugs. However – it was great being near so many great bars and restaurants that we didn’t mind!

  Lidia, a representative from Valcambre met us at the apartment. She gave us a tour of the apartment, answered any questions we had, and provided a map of the area with some recommendations of sites to see. The personal touch was very much appreciated. We arrived around 1pm, about 2 hours prior to the official check in time … because the apartment was cleaned, we were able to check in early. The apartment is small but very functional … well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds with high quality sheets. The private rooftop deck was a bonus … a great place to enjoy a glass of wine.

  Zentrum ist gut, das Appartement ist schön und die Dachterrasse ist super!
  
  What could be improved: Die Nähe zu den Bars lässt auch den entsprechenden Lärm nicht fehlen. Uns hat‘s nicht gestört, aber nichts für empfindliche Menschen.

  Buena ubicación justo por detrás de la Alameda de Hércules. La terraza es estupenda para las noches de verano, sentarte a compartir con amigos. Cocina muy completa y equipada.
  
  What could be improved: La habitación de la planta de arriba no tiene persianas ni cortinas opacas y es dificilísimo dormir con toda la luz que entra desde que amanece.

  Besonders toll ist die Dachterrasse und der Ausblick auf die umliegenden Dächer! Hier hat man wirklich einen Skyview! Auch der nahe gelegene Markt ist eine Besonderheit zum Einkauf von Obst, Gemüse, Fleisch, Schinken und besonders frischem Fisch, für alle, die im Urlaub auch gerne selbst mal kochen wollen!
  Das Appartement ist super (2 Badezimmer) ausgestattet, sauber und mit Liebe eingerichtet!
  
  What could be improved: Das Stadtviertel in dem das Appartement liegt ist auch nachts relativ laut, was durch die Nähe zur Alameda de Hercules bedingt ist! Das ist auch leider bei geschlossenen Fenstern die ganz Nacht über zu hören! Mit Ohropax war es allerdings kein Problem!

  Die Lage ist wunderbar. Für die, die mit Kind reisen ist es ein Volltreffer, weil gleich um die Ecke ein Spielplatzud Fussgängerzone gibt's. Allgemein sehr kinderfreundlich.
  Lieder gibt es keinen Aufzug, aber 2 Stöcke schafft man auch zu Fuß. Nur Kinderwagen mussten wir immer rauf und runter tragen was eher unangenehm war.
  Ansonsten ist die Wohnung hell, warm und gemütlich (es war Februar, daher die Wärme in der Wohnung wichtig)

  God plads, godt udstyret (dog elendig støvsuger), dejlig tagterrasse og fransk altan. Tæt på charmerende kvarterer, markeder, spisesteder, folkeliv.
  
  What could be improved: Der var meget støj nogle nætter, fra Alameda Hercules og nærliggende barer.
  Vi havde problemer med et afløb, og det var lidt svært at få ordnet det. Men det blev ordnet!
