Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Seville, and the Menendez city center honestly surprised me. It’s tucked right on Avenida de Menéndez Pelayo – which, if you know the city at all, puts you in this sweet spot where you’re technically in the old town but not drowning in the tourist chaos of the cathedral area. You can actually walk to the Alcázar in about eight minutes (I timed it), but more importantly, you’re close enough to duck into those little tapas bars that locals actually frequent.

The building itself has that classic Sevillian thing going on – you know, traditional facade but they’ve clearly put money into updating the inside without making it feel like a sterile chain hotel. The lobby’s got these gorgeous tiles that I’m pretty sure are original, and the staff… well, they actually seem to know the neighborhood. I asked about parking (because let’s be real, driving in Seville’s old town is a nightmare), and the guy at reception didn’t just give me some generic response – he walked me to the window and pointed out exactly where to find the closest public garage and warned me about the narrow streets on the way there.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it feels during different parts of the day. Mornings are beautifully quiet – you get that golden light streaming through if you snag a room facing the avenue, and you can hear the city waking up without being overwhelmed by it. The breakfast area overlooks this charming little courtyard, and honestly, sitting there with coffee while planning your day feels pretty perfect. Evenings are where the location really shines – you’re close enough to wander into Barrio Santa Cruz for dinner, but when you stumble back (because the wine in Seville is dangerous), you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise of staying right in the thick of things. The rooms themselves are solid – nothing fancy, but the beds are actually comfortable, the AC works (crucial in summer, trust me), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I mean, it’s a four-star hotel, so you’re not getting luxury, but you’re getting thoughtful touches like decent lighting and outlets where you actually need them.

The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that just works without trying too hard. You’re not going to have Instagram-worthy moments in the lobby, but you’ll sleep well, the shower pressure is good, and you’ll save money compared to the fancier places while still being perfectly positioned to explore. If you’re the type who wants to experience Seville rather than just photograph it, this is honestly a really smart choice.

  El piso es muy coqueto y la ubicación es buena.
  Los colchones son cómodos.
  No molesta el ruido del exterior aún estando en plena avenida.
  Gran depósito de agua caliente.
  
  What could be improved: Las almohadas son muy finas y no se descansa bien.
  No hay menaje de cocina: ni cubiertos, ni sartenes…nada para poder cocinar allí.
  El "baño" es un pasillo entre los dormitorios y el comedor: la ducha y el vater a un lado del pasillo y el lavabo al otro lado.
