Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Minty Stay Mendoza Rios – the entrance is pretty understated on what’s basically a residential street in Seville’s old quarter. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about it. This 4-star spot sits right in the heart of the historic center, and I mean literally – you’re a two-minute walk from the cathedral’s massive spires, and the whole Barrio Santa Cruz maze is practically at your doorstep.

The thing about this place is that it actually feels like Seville, if that makes sense. The building itself has that classic Andalusian vibe – you walk into this gorgeous interior courtyard with traditional tiles and wrought iron details that make you forget you’re in what’s technically a modern hotel. The rooms are… well, they’re not huge (this is old town Europe, after all), but they’re thoughtfully designed with a mix of contemporary comfort and local character. I stayed in 1I – which I’m guessing refers to the floor layout – and honestly, the attention to detail impressed me. Good AC (crucial in summer), really solid wifi, and beds that don’t feel like they came from a bulk hotel supplier. The bathrooms are compact but efficient, with decent water pressure – something you can’t always count on in these historic buildings.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. Calle Mendoza Rios is one of those narrow streets where locals actually live and work, not just a tourist corridor lined with souvenir shops. There’s a tiny bar around the corner where old guys play dominoes in the afternoon, and you’ll hear actual Spanish conversations echoing off the buildings – not just tour groups shuffling past. The hotel staff clearly knows the area well; they pointed me toward this incredible little tapas place on Calle Aire that I never would have found otherwise. Parking is… well, it’s what you’d expect in old town Seville, which is to say forget about it and just walk everywhere. But honestly, that’s part of the charm – everything you want to see is within walking distance anyway. The Alcázar is maybe five minutes on foot, and you can wander down to the Guadalquivir when you need a break from the medieval streets. I’d say the 8.5 rating is pretty spot-on – it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but it nails what it’s going for: a comfortable, well-located base that feels connected to the real Seville.

  Appartement idéalement situé pour découvrir Seville à pied. Tout y était parfait et nous y avons passé un excellent séjour. Les lieux sont bien équipés et décorés avec goût. Nous recommandons sans réserve cet appartement 🙂
