Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “MonKeys Apartments” on Calle Adriano, I thought it was going to be some kitschy themed place. But actually, it’s named after the street’s history (there used to be monkey traders here centuries ago), and the owners clearly know what they’re doing. This 4-star setup sits right in the heart of Seville’s old town, and I mean *right* in it – you’re basically living like a local in one of those narrow cobblestone streets that tourists spend all day trying to find.
The thing about staying on Calle Adriano is that you’re close enough to walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with tour groups streaming past your window at 7 AM. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – and that terrace situation is no joke. I spent way too many evenings up there with a bottle of Cruzcampo, watching the sun set over those orange-tiled rooftops. You know what’s actually nice? The building feels authentic without being run-down. The walls are thick enough that street noise isn’t really an issue (though honestly, the streets here get pretty quiet after 11 PM anyway, except during Feria or Semana Santa – then all bets are off).
What sold me on this place was the small stuff. There’s proper air conditioning that actually works (crucial in Seville summers, trust me), a kitchen that’s functional enough to make breakfast or heat up some jamón from the market on Calle Feria, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure is fantastic. The check-in was smooth, no drama, and they actually gave useful local tips instead of just handing over generic tourist maps. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and well-maintained. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted that authentic barrio vibe without sacrificing comfort. Plus, parking in this part of town is basically impossible anyway, so being walking distance to everything just makes sense.

Excellent location. Spacious. Within walking distance to everything. Well appointed. Very clean. Mercado across the street has excellent variety of food stalls

We loved the comfy sitting room with a great view of Tirana and the river. The main bedroom was also gorgeous, the second bedroom spacious. Kitchen was fine, though we didn't cook. The location was superb – 15 minutes walk to the old town, to Tirana, to the Alcazar and not much further to the art museum.
We were not prepared for the rather steep stairs or for the fact that no-one was going to check us in, despite what it said on Booking.com. But the office sent lots of directions and extra photos and in the end we had no difficulty with the key box.

The apartment was really big and spacious and has everything that you will need. You can really call it a luxury apartment.
What could be improved: The bedrooms are downstairs and it is difficult for me and my husband, we are 68 and 70 years, to go up and down the steep stairs that has a total of 19 steps.
The shower head in the master’s bedroom needs replacement.

The location is excellent. There is a lift to the upper floors with access to a lovely roof terrace. The apartment itself is very spacious and nicely furnished. There is a large fridge-freezer, a nice, quiet washing machine and dishwasher, which are all very useful to have. In the lounge/dining area, there are two lovely rattan-backed chairs.
What could be improved: In the bathrooms, there is a lot of black mould on the tiling, and the toilet seats are loose. In the kitchen area, there are loose knobs on the doors of the integrated dishwasher and of the cupboard under the sink.
