Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – the name “MonKeys Apartments Luxury Penthouse Pureza & Chill Out” had me rolling my eyes a bit before I even got there. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the weirdest names turn out to be gems, and this spot on Calle Pureza actually delivered on that “chill out” promise. The location alone makes it worth considering – you’re right in the heart of Triana, which honestly feels more authentically Sevillian than the tourist-packed centro across the river. I mean, you can literally hear the neighborhood coming to life in the mornings, with locals heading to the market and kids walking to school, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll wake you up at dawn.
The penthouse setup is pretty sweet – I was expecting something more cramped given how packed this neighborhood gets, but there’s actual space to spread out here. The terrace situation is where this place really shines, especially if you time it right and catch those late afternoon views when the light hits the Guadalquivir just so. You’ll want to grab some jamón and cheese from the Mercado de Triana (it’s like a five-minute walk, tops) and just camp out there for a while. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – there’s character in the details, though I’ll admit the décor leans pretty heavily into that modern minimalist thing that’s everywhere these days. The kitchen’s actually functional, which is rare for these kinds of places, and if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights, you’ll appreciate being able to make your own coffee without trekking downstairs.
What really sold me on this spot was how it sits in the neighborhood – you’re close enough to walk across the Isabel II bridge to hit all the major sites (the cathedral, the Alcázar, all that), but you get to come home to somewhere that feels real. The bars around here are where actual Sevillanos go for tapas, not just tourists following guidebooks. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare if you’re driving (honestly, just don’t drive in Seville if you can help it), but the tram stop is right there, and getting around is pretty straightforward. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it’s solidly comfortable and the location makes up for any minor quirks. Just don’t expect hotel-level service since it’s more of an apartment rental situation, but the check-in was smooth enough when I was there. If you’re the type who wants to experience Seville like you actually live there for a few days instead of just checking boxes off a tourist list, this place gets it right.

We loved the location, the size of the apartment and how everything was clean and well maintained. The hosts were also extremely helpful and always reachable.
What could be improved: I guess it comes with the location (Triana neighborhood where hones do not have parking spots) but parking was not easy and we had to rent a parking spot for the length of our stay and it was about ten minutes walking from the apartment.Clare from United Kingdom – 16 July 2023 (7/10)
