You know what caught me off guard about Monsalves 39? It’s tucked into this narrow street in Seville’s old quarter where you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking – but honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building itself has that weathered Andalusian character you can’t fake, with those traditional shutters and iron balconies that actually feel lived-in rather than staged for Instagram.

I mean, staying right on Calle Monsalves puts you in the thick of things without the chaos of the main tourist drags. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (and I’m talking a leisurely stroll, not power-walking), but the street itself stays surprisingly quiet at night. Well, quiet for Seville anyway – you’ll still hear the occasional flamenco guitar drifting from nearby bars, which honestly adds to the atmosphere rather than keeping you awake. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid four-star place – nothing revolutionary, but thoughtfully done with enough local touches that you remember you’re in Andalusia. The air conditioning actually works properly too, which believe me, matters when you’re visiting in July or August.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. Not just the obvious stuff like where to find the best tapas (though they’ll point you toward some gems on Calle Mateos Gago that most tourists miss), but practical things too – like which entrance to use for the Alcázar to avoid the longest lines, or that there’s decent parking about two blocks away on Calle Castelar if you’re brave enough to drive in the old town. The whole check-in experience felt refreshingly straightforward – no overselling of amenities or pushy upsells, just “here’s your key, here’s what you need to know, enjoy Seville.” That 8.4 rating makes sense when you stay here because it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. It’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals right in a location that puts you at the heart of one of Spain’s most beautiful cities. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a comfortable base that doesn’t distract from the incredible neighborhood right outside your door.

    Great location, walking distance (15-30 mins) to all main attractions

    The flat equipped will all essentials (hair dryer, iron, washing machine)

    Also, if you’re unlucky to be in the apartment next to the front door, you’ll hear its loud squeak every time it’s opened / closed

    Stylishly furnished apartment in fabulous Seville location. Property has a lot going for it, with a few tweeks it could be a lot better. Close enough to walk to the bus stop for the airport bus and easy walk to Las Setas and main attractions.
    Nice bathroom, great shower and good size living area. Really good to be able to open the 3 balcony doors for fresh air.

    Kitchen is a letdown as it is badly designed and has the bare minimum of equipment and bench space. Unfortunately, like a lot of company managed apartments, they are really stingy on what is provided. No shower gel, no soap on tap dispenser, no bottle of washing up liquid – just a couple of single use sachets, which are annoying.
    No kitchen items, coffee pods or teabags.
    These little things do not cost much but do make you feel much more welcome.
    The sofa is ok as a lounge but pretty grubby and needs replacing as a sofa bed. The only way to use it for sleeping is to put the mattress on the floor. The frame is quite bent out of shape.
    We were in apartment 4, on the 1st floor.
