Hotel Description
You know what hits you first when you walk into Casa de la Moneda? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – this place genuinely feels monumental, like they took some grand old Sevillian mansion and somehow made it work as a modern hotel without losing its soul. I mean, the lobby alone has these soaring ceilings that make you crane your neck, and there’s this mix of original stonework with sleek contemporary touches that honestly shouldn’t work together but absolutely does.
The location is pretty much perfect if you’re the type who wants to be in the thick of things. Calle Joaquín Hazañas sits right in that sweet spot of the old town where you’re close enough to walk to the Cathedral and Alcázar (we’re talking maybe 8-10 minutes on foot), but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague some of the more obvious streets. Actually, I loved how quiet it gets at night – you’ll hear the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages during the day, but once evening rolls around, it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. The street itself is narrow and cobbled, so forget about parking right outside, but there’s a decent public garage about three blocks away if you’re driving.
What really sold me on this place, though, were the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The rooms have this “Sweet” concept they mention in the name – and it’s not just marketing fluff. There are these thoughtful touches like really good lighting (you can actually read without squinting), power outlets where you need them, and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in historic buildings like this. I stayed during a particularly hot September, and the AC worked without sounding like a freight train – small victories, you know? The 8.2 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury-resort perfect, but it delivers on what matters. Staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood too, not just the typical tourist spots. When I asked about where locals eat breakfast, they pointed me toward this tiny café on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would have found otherwise. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentically Sevillian without sacrificing modern comfort, this is your spot.

Great location in the city centre. Nice spacious apartment. Good facilities. We didn’t meet any staff, but we got good instructions for access. And when we needed extra knives and towels, it was quickly provided for.
What could be improved: –Ilona from Australia – 15 May 2024 (8/10)
The apartment’s location is very close to the Cathedral and Real Alcazar (palace) and is easy walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and supermarkets. It is about a 10Euro cab ride to the main train station (Santa Justa). The host is easy to communicate with and entry to the property was easy with a lockbox. The apartment is clean and spacious, the bed and couch are big and comfortable and the shower is large and has good water pressure. There are no English TV channels other than BBC News but the wifi is good enough to stream easily. I recommend this property for an easy stay to explore a really beautiful city.
What could be improved: There was a fair amount of noise from the neighbouring restaurant which closes at midnight each night and then staff take about an hour to clean up. There was also some construction work from 8am in surrounding buildings. We ended up using the airconditioner to drown out the noise which worked well.
The pots and pans are pretty basic and could do with updating – the frypan is really etched and we didn’t feel safe using it, and the pans are cheap and burn food very easily.Tamar from United Kingdom – 18 March 2023 (9/10)
The property was perfectly located, specially if visiting Seville for the first time.
It was very clean and equipped with everything one may need during a long stay.
What could be improved: Everything was great, but maybe to note that the property was located on the ground floor, due to which I preferred to keep the blinds closed at all times.Janet from Thailand – 31 January 2023 (9/10)
Lorenzo was very helpful. best location. very clean and has all the necessities.
What could be improved: nothing that would make me not come back! the beds are a bit soft, only 1 Aircon remote, and there wasn’t any washing powder. otherwise it’s perfect!Seyedmohammad from Iran – 26 May 2025 (8/10)
The location of the apartment was excellent — everything was within walking distance, around 10 minutes away, so there was no need to take a taxi, metro, or bus. The apartment itself was very well-equipped; it had everything we needed and lacked nothing in terms of facilities.
What could be improved: If I were to mention a couple of downsides, the walls had some damp patches, and there were quite a few small insects in the apartment, which was a bit unpleasant. Also, the apartment faces the street, so when we opened the windows, we could hear traffic and people outside quite clearly. Personally, I found the sounds of the street and city life enjoyable and lively, but it might not be ideal for light sleepers.Katarzyna from Poland – 9 January 2025 (8/10)
A wonderful apartment location, right in the center. There's a delicious tapas bar just around the corner. The apartment layout is very good, with comfortable beds.
What could be improved: We have no complaints.Sarah from United Kingdom – 26 May 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic central location a few minutes from the Cathedral etc. The apartment was clean, and had basic equipment to make simple snacks/drinks . The air con worked well and WiFi was excellent.
What could be improved: The door opened directly into the street and felt very insecure. It locked but didn't quite close properly. Very noisy due to the proximity to bars etc.Calvin from Belgium – 3 April 2024 (8/10)
The apartment is well located, close to everything; palacio, cathedral, shops, bars, and restaurants… no cars required. You can find everything in walking distance. The apartment is well decorated. The check-in/check-out is very easy.
What could be improved: The apartment is at ground level. You can hear everyone passing by. One night, someone was at the door trying to open it. We had to scare them away by banging on the door. Luckily for us they didn't insist.Andrea from Denmark – 25 November 2023 (8/10)
We could not have asked for a better location. Restaurants, sights, grocery stores all super close. We stepped out of the door, turned a corner and already there were so many things to see.
What could be improved: As some other reviews noted, there is not a lot of natural light in the apartment, and it can smell a bit like sewage due to the plumbing, but it did not bother us that much, and it didn’t seem like a unique case, as some streets and older buildings had the same. It got very loud at night, the windows and the main door did not isolate the sound much, but it was worth it for the location, being so close to everything.
What dragged down our experience the most was the sofa in the living area. It was covered in stains, and discolouration, which made me uneasy sitting on it, and after the long days of sight seeing, it put us off from cozying up there.Viktoriia from United Arab Emirates – 25 May 2023 (8/10)
Very central location, spacious apartment, big shower area, quick check in, helpful host/manager. I was a bit worried it will be too noisy (based on the reviews), but lucky it was not during the days of my stay. Overall good for a short stay considering the location if you don't plan to spend too much time inside.
What could be improved: No noise isolation at all, I could hear every passing person/car etc. (but luckily it was rare, as apartment is on the inner street). Also dark because you have to keep the windows fully/covered with blinds at all times (as it was the ground floor). And 2 small issues which could be easily fixed by the management: 1) shower curtain is very dirty, 2) toilet seat requires fixing.
