Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and Museum by Alohamundi is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug – like you’ve discovered something most tourists are going to miss. It’s tucked away on Calle Abad Gordillo in the old town, which I mean, sounds fancy but it’s actually this narrow little street that most people walk right past on their way to the Cathedral. That’s the thing about Seville’s old town though – the best stuff is always hiding in plain sight.

The moment you step inside, you get why they called it “Museum.” There’s this incredible attention to detail that feels more like someone’s carefully curated private collection than a hotel lobby. The building itself has that perfect Sevillian bone structure – you know, those thick walls that keep everything blissfully cool even when it’s pushing 40 degrees outside in July. I stayed there during Semana Santa once, and while the streets were absolutely packed with processions and tourists, the hotel felt like this peaceful little sanctuary. You could actually hear the drums and music drifting in, but it was atmospheric rather than overwhelming. The staff clearly know their stuff too – they had insider tips about which procession routes to avoid if you just wanted to grab dinner without getting caught in the crowds.

What really gets me is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Andalusian character and actual modern comfort. The rooms have these gorgeous original tile floors and shuttered windows that open onto tiny balconies, but the beds are properly comfortable and the bathrooms are sleek without being sterile. I appreciated little touches like having decent lighting for reading – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many “charming” hotels leave you squinting at your book. The location is pretty brilliant too, honestly. You’re a five-minute walk from the Cathedral and Giralda, but you’re also right there with all these little tapas bars that locals actually use. There’s this tiny place around the corner – I think it’s called Bar Eslava – where they do these incredible montaditos, and the woman behind the bar will remember your order after the second visit. You won’t find that in the guidebooks, but it’s exactly the kind of thing that makes a trip memorable. The 9.8 rating makes perfect sense when you experience how everything just works seamlessly, from check-in to recommendations to that final morning when you’re trying to figure out how to fit one more ceramics purchase into your suitcase.

  Such a stunning apartment with great views and location. We were on the top floor and had two balconies, plus access to the shared pool.

  Die Wohnung war super ausgestattet und sehr gepflegt, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen 🙂

  Très bien placé, à une minute à pied des restaurants et 5 minutes du centre ville piétonnier et de toutes les boutiques.
  Près de tout mais sans les inconvénients, placé dans une petite rue au calme.

  Hele fijne locatie in het centrum, maar wel rustig gelegen. Leuke ontbijttentjes in de buurt en de rest van de stad goed te belopen.
  
  What could be improved: Eigenlijk was alles top! Enige minpuntje was de riool lucht na het douchen, maar ze hebben goed meegedacht hoe dit opgelost kon worden.

  Výborná lokalita všade blizko pešou dostupnosťou. Tichá ulička, moderné vybavenie, terasa na posedenie s markizou, 2 kupelne a toalety, ochladzovaci bazén na ochladenie.

• Chantii from Germany – 21 May 2025 (10/10)

  Die Lage war traumhaft. Man hat alles zum kochen da und auch so alles was man braucht. Auf dem Dach gibt es sogar eine Terrasse mit Pool, super zum Abkühlen. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt und unsere Erwartungen wurden bei dem Preis mehr als nur übertroffen.

  Très proche des centres d'intérêt de la ville. Tout faisable à pieds (ou bus avec les enfants)
  Plein de commerces et de restaus proches.
  Très confortable et haut standing d'aménagement !!
  La piscine partagée sur le toit est un vrai plus ! Très agréable.
  
  What could be improved: Un évier d'une des salles de bain avait son siphon bloqué vers le bas ce qui l'a rendu inutilisable.
