Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and this apartment on Calle Gallos honestly surprised me. When I first walked up to number 28, I was expecting another cramped tourist rental – you know how these old town spots can be – but stepping inside felt like discovering someone’s really well-designed secret hideaway. The space has this modern edge that somehow doesn’t clash with the centuries-old neighborhood around it, which is actually pretty impressive when you consider how easy it is to get that balance wrong.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. I mean, whoever designed this place clearly understands what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos. The kitchen had proper knives (you’d be amazed how rare that is), the shower pressure was fantastic – honestly, better than most hotels I’ve tried in the city – and there’s this little seating area by the window where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. You’re right in the thick of the old town here, so there’s always something happening on the street below, but it’s not the touristy chaos you get closer to the cathedral. More like… real Seville life, if that makes sense.

The location is what really makes this place special, though. You’re tucked into this quiet residential street that most visitors never find, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from Plaza de Armas and maybe ten minutes to the cathedral area. I actually preferred walking everywhere from here instead of dealing with taxis or the metro – you end up discovering all these little tapas bars and shops that aren’t on anyone’s tourist maps. There’s this tiny café around the corner on Calle Adriano where the locals grab their morning tostadas, and honestly, starting your day there instead of some overpriced hotel breakfast feels like you’re actually experiencing the city. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking can be tricky if you’re driving – this is old Seville, so the streets are narrow and spots are limited. But really, once you’re settled in here, you won’t want to use a car anyway. The whole area is perfect for wandering, and you’ll find yourself taking different routes home each day just because every little street has something worth seeing.
