You know what caught me off guard about Nine O Clock San Agustin? The name sounds almost gimmicky, but this place is actually tucked right into Plaza de San Agustín in a way that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the guidebooks missed. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Iglesia de San Agustín – and I’m talking about the kind of steps where you can hear the church bells from your room, which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on how much you drank the night before wandering Seville’s old town.

The thing about staying here is that you’re properly in the thick of things without being on one of those tourist-packed streets where you can’t move for selfie sticks. Plaza de San Agustín has this lived-in feel – there’s a little bar where locals actually grab their morning coffee (not just tourists), and you’ll see kids playing football in the square during that golden hour when the light hits the old stone buildings just right. The hotel itself feels like someone took a traditional Sevillian building and updated it thoughtfully – you’ve got modern bathrooms and decent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer), but they kept the character intact. The rooms vary quite a bit actually – some have those tiny wrought-iron balconies overlooking the plaza, others face interior courtyards that stay blissfully cool.

Honestly, the 8.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Seville, but everything just… works. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood – they’ll tell you which tapas place around the corner to hit up (there’s this little spot about two minutes away that doesn’t even have a proper sign), and more importantly, they’ll steer you away from the tourist traps. Parking is basically impossible right at the hotel, but that’s true for most of the old town anyway – there’s a decent public garage about a five-minute walk away if you’re driving. The streets here are narrow and cobbled, so pack accordingly if you’re hauling big suitcases. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central – Plaza de San Agustín doesn’t have the late-night bar crowds that some other squares attract, so you can actually sleep with the windows open to catch that lovely Andalusian breeze.

  I was met outside the property and the electrics etc were explained to me clearly.
  
  What could be improved: One problem was that an apartment block structure design has a water pipe. (Waste) running from the apartments above through the bath room. There has been a problem in an apartment above that has left an aroma in the bathroom. The ceiling plaster around the pipe needs renewal and cleaning.

  The studio was clean and had air conditioning which is a bonus in some months. The bed was large and very comfortable, the bathroom also large with a large rainshower. There was a washing machine, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, iron and ironing board, all things that make travelling and staying away from home more comfortable. The apartment is situated very close to cafes, supermarket, bank and bike rental.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside was the drain smell in the corridor. There are 2 drain covers near the outside door that maybe don't fit very well and this let the accommodation down a little.

  Everything except the front door hinges
  
  What could be improved: The noise of the front door squeaking
  And grinding every time someone entered or left the apartments, we were in apartment 1,the head of the bed is on the other side of the front door,I know the door is heavy but it’s the hinges,maybe try WD40 on the hinges.
