Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Seville’s old quarter, and Novalia Home Suite actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The location on Calle Vidrio – you know, that narrow street that tourists usually walk right past on their way to the cathedral – turns out to be perfect. You’re literally a three-minute walk from all the major sights, but somehow you’ve escaped that constant stream of tour groups and street performers that can drive you nuts when you’re trying to sleep.

The suites themselves feel more like someone’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. I mean, there’s actual counter space in the kitchenette, decent lighting for reading (miracle in Spanish hotels), and the beds are firm without being punishing. What really won me over was the attention to sound – these old buildings usually mean you hear every conversation from the courtyard, but they’ve done proper soundproofing. The only thing you’ll hear at night is the occasional clatter of late diners on the cobblestones below, which is actually kind of charming.

The staff knows their stuff too, and I don’t just mean they speak decent English. Ask them about dinner spots and they’ll steer you toward places like Eslava or La Azotea instead of the tourist traps around the cathedral. They also get that parking in this part of town is basically impossible – they’ll sort you out with a spot at the nearby garage on Calle Alemanes before you even think to panic about it. I stayed there in late spring when Seville gets properly busy, and while you’ll pay a bit more than some of the generic chain places outside the old town, you’re getting that perfect balance of location and comfort that’s honestly hard to find. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s the kind of place that doesn’t wow you with flashy amenities but just quietly does everything right.

  Very comfortable apartment on a quiet street, a 5 minute walk from the cathedral. Our host was very accommodating. The apartment had everything we needed including excellent WiFi.

  What could be improved: We liked most things , only thing l can criticize is that it very cluttered with furnishings , l think it is a Spanish thing , they like to have tables and all sort of stuff, but in saying that , is was cosy .

  Nice clean spacious apartment in a good location.
  
  What could be improved: Bed and pillows harder than we would like. Would be nice to supply a few coffee pods for the coffee machine as the previous places we have stayed.

  A great place to stay in the centre of Seville. A perfect locacion, a quiet yard, a very helpful host. He sent clear instructions how to collect the key and also recommendations of places to visit and restaurants. He was very fast to respond to all our queations. He also let us enter earlier than 15.00.
  The apartment is very cosy and comfortable. It had all that is needed. The bed is large and very comfortable.
