Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Occidental Sevilla Viapol on Balbino Marron, I wasn’t expecting much from this corner of Nervión. It’s not exactly the postcard-pretty historic center most people picture when they think Seville, you know? But here’s the thing that caught me off guard: this place actually gets what business travelers (and honestly, anyone who values their sanity) really need.
The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels refreshing after wandering around Seville’s more ornate spaces – not that there’s anything wrong with all that Moorish architecture, but sometimes you just want to breathe a little. What really sold me was how the staff handled the usual travel chaos. I mean, I showed up sweaty and slightly lost after taking the wrong metro exit (happens to everyone, right?), and they sorted me out without that fake hotel smile thing. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy – good lighting for actually reading, decent wifi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and air conditioning that works properly. Trust me on this last point, because Seville in summer is no joke.
Here’s where it gets interesting though – the location is actually pretty brilliant once you figure it out. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the Cathedral and all that tourist stuff, which means you can easily get there but you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds right outside your window. The Nervión area has this lived-in feel where you’ll see actual Sevillanos going about their day, grabbing coffee at the local bars, that sort of thing. There’s a decent supermarket nearby if you need to grab snacks or water bottles (which you will, because again, the heat), and honestly the metro connections aren’t bad at all once you get the hang of it. I noticed the hotel fills up with business folks during the week – there’s some kind of conference center situation happening nearby – but weekends are quieter, which works out perfectly if you’re doing the tourist thing. The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and they actually have proper coffee, not that watery hotel stuff that makes you question your life choices. One small thing that impressed me: the housekeeping team pays attention to details like replacing towels that are actually wet and restocking the little amenities without you having to ask. It sounds minor, but after staying in places where you have to hunt down basic supplies, you start to appreciate when things just work smoothly.

Great location, friendly staff, competitive price, only the sound insulation could be better.
Mulkerrin from Ireland – 16 June 2025 (9/10)
Exceptional hotel, comfortable rooms and great breakfast in a wonderful site for travel options, sightseeing and shopping
What could be improved: No kettle in room for tea making. More and more Spanish hotels have this facility.Peter from United Kingdom – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
Great transport link outside, large room, great bed , great omelettes
What could be improved: Breakfast was a bit basic, street a bit noisy, but the tram service is greatBogdan from Romania – 14 May 2025 (9/10)
Conveniently located just two tram stations(or a 15-20 minutes walk) away from Seville's historical center, with the public transport station just across the street(which also has a direct link to/from the airport).
Spacious underground parking if you need it. Very good and diverse breakfast with lots of local food. Friendly and helpful staff, and I would especially mention here the guys at the bar who were available to give you a cold beer even at 10PM 🙂Marc from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (8/10)
It’s location.
What could be improved: Reception and lounge quite characterless in comparison with Sevilla centre and the Melia’s similar spaces. Yours was lacking massively.Saalihah from United Kingdom – 26 April 2025 (9/10)
It was very clean, accessible and local to all the tourist sites
Anshul from Germany – 22 April 2025 (9/10)
Location is a big plus, team and metro only 50m away and the rooms are also quite airy and big in size.

Everything was good. Especially the cool manager at the front desk was so kind. I could rest well with my children.

The hotel is quite modern with nicely sized rooms. The bathroom is great with a powerful shower. There were a couple of small issues with the room (bathroom door wouldn't shut and the wardrobe door rail had fallen of its runner) but this didn't take away from the great stay we had. The room was clean daily to a high standard and the staff were always pleasant. The location is good but not for anyone who doesn't like walking. 15 minute walk to the centre…

Everything.
