You know what struck me first about Ocean Drive Sevilla? The location is absolutely wild – you’re literally sitting on top of one of Seville’s most fascinating archaeological sites. I mean, the hotel sits right on Plaza de la Encarnación, which locals just call “Las Setas” because of that crazy wooden mushroom structure (the Metropol Parasol) that dominates the square. When I first walked up, I honestly thought I was in the wrong place because the modern hotel facade seems almost too sleek against all that ancient Roman and Moorish history underneath.

But here’s the thing – once you’re inside, it all makes sense. The staff actually knows their stuff about the neighborhood, and they’ll tell you things like how to skip the tourist crowds at the Cathedral (hint: early morning or late afternoon) and where to find the best tapas that aren’t overpriced tourist traps. The rooms are really well thought out too, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that let in amazing light – though fair warning, if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room facing away from the plaza because Las Setas gets pretty lively, especially on weekends when the locals come out. I sort of loved the energy, but my travel companion needed earplugs. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in European hotels), and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that make you want to stay in longer than you should.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the sweet spot of Seville’s old town. You’re a three-minute walk from Calle Sierpes for shopping, five minutes from the Cathedral if you cut through the right alleyways, and – this is key – you’re close enough to the real neighborhood bars where locals actually hang out. The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, which initially seemed like a downside, but honestly? You’re surrounded by some of the best food in the city. There’s this tiny place called Bar Alfalfa just around the corner that serves jamón ibérico that’ll ruin you for any other ham. The concierge (ask for Miguel if he’s still there) knows all these spots and won’t steer you toward the tourist traps on Avenida de la Constitución. Parking is tricky in this part of town – well, it’s tricky everywhere in Seville’s old quarter – but they can arrange garage parking nearby for about 20 euros a day, which is actually reasonable for the location. The whole experience feels like staying in a boutique hotel that actually gets why people come to Seville in the first place.

  The property located in very good location, it was convenient to get to all attractions on foot. I could stay out longer and enjoy my holiday knowing the hotel is next door.
  The staff at hotel were so kind, helpful, positive attitude and very polite.
  The room was so cosy! I had my best night sleep there.
  The hotel provided a free bottle of water every day, I was enjoying Nespresso coffee in my room. I would chose this hotel over again and again

  Staff were really pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect, just walking distance from all the sights such as the cathedral and the Alcazabra. We loved the roof top terrace and enjoyed an aperatif there in the evenings. It was so special with a view over the city, a gentle breeze on our faces, and enjoying the light show from the ‘Mushroom’ in the Plaza de la encarnación as the sun goes down.
  
  What could be improved: Rooms are compact and internal unless you pay considerably more for the superior rooms. Not a problem – really just a choice.
