Petit Palace Santa Cruz Overview
You know what struck me first about Petit Palace Santa Cruz? The location is absolutely killer – and I mean that in the best way. You’re literally steps from the Cathedral and Real Alcázar, but tucked away on this quiet plaza that most tourists completely miss. Plaza Ramón Ybarra Llosent doesn’t roll off the tongue, but trust me, you’ll want to remember it because this little pocket of Seville feels like a secret.
The hotel itself has that boutique feel without trying too hard, if that makes sense. The rooms are modern and tech-heavy (they’re big on their gadgets – tablets for everything, smart lighting, the works), but somehow it doesn’t feel cold or sterile. I actually appreciated having decent WiFi and USB ports everywhere after staying in some “charming” old places that made me feel like I was living in the 1800s. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which honestly surprised me because Spanish hotels can be hit or miss on that front. What I really loved was how quiet it gets at night – you’re in the heart of the old town but the plaza acts like this natural sound buffer from the main tourist chaos on Calle Mateos Gago.
Here’s the thing about this neighborhood that you won’t read in most guides: mornings here are magical. Before 9 AM, you’ve got the whole area practically to yourself. You can walk to the Cathedral entrance in maybe three minutes, grab coffee at one of the local bars where actual Sevillanos go (not the tourist traps), and just… breathe. The afternoon gets pretty intense with tour groups, but evenings? Perfect for wandering the narrow streets without getting swept up in crowds. The hotel staff actually knows this rhythm – they’ll tell you the best times to visit different spots, which restaurants to hit early versus late. I mean, they could just hand you a generic city map, but they don’t. One guy at the front desk – I think his name was Carlos – drew me a little route to avoid the crowds at the Alcázar and it worked perfectly. Small touches like that make a difference when you’re dealing with a city that can feel overwhelming during peak season.

Location is perfect, not easy if you come by car as you have to find a place in a public parking in the area.
What could be improved: Hotel without any charm, rooms are not well decorated and could benefit from a strong refresh. Bathroom door was not fitting well in the wall. Give a sense of carelessness. Apart from that, room was clean.Orla from Ireland – 30 April 2025 (9/10)

It was fantastic. A very nice hotel, so clean, nice room and wonderful breakfast. The hotel had the best and cosiest location in Sevilla in the Jewish blocks near everything.
The staff was helpful and very friendly.
In the evening and in the night it was quiet and we slept well in the beds. Hotel is really beautiful with its big patio inside.
