Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and Pilatos Central Superior honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, I’ll give you that, but don’t let that throw you off. It’s tucked away on Calle Caballerizas, which is this narrow little street that most tourists completely miss even though they’re literally walking past it to get to the cathedral. You know how some hotels claim to be in the “historic center” but they’re actually fifteen minutes from anything interesting? This isn’t one of those.

The building itself has that classic Sevillian thing going on – you walk through this unassuming doorway and suddenly you’re in this gorgeous courtyard that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into someone’s private mansion. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully modern, if that makes sense. They’ve kept the character (those thick walls are amazing for keeping out the noise from the cobblestones below) but added all the stuff you actually need, like proper air conditioning – which, trust me, you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting between May and September. The Wi-Fi actually works too, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. What really got me was the attention to detail… the bathroom products smell like orange blossom, there are USB ports where you need them, and the bed linens are that perfect weight where you’re not too hot but not cold either.

Here’s what you need to know about the location – it’s basically a three-minute walk to the Alcázar, maybe five to the cathedral if you’re taking your time and stopping to look at things. But more importantly, you’re right in the middle of where actual Sevillians go about their daily business. There’s this tiny tapas bar around the corner (I think it’s called Bar Estrella?) that doesn’t even have a sign, but locals pack it every evening. The Mercado del Arenal is close enough that you can grab fresh fruit and those amazing olives for a fraction of what hotels charge for room service. Parking’s a bit tricky – well, it’s impossible right at the hotel, but there’s a garage about ten minutes away that won’t completely destroy your budget. Honestly though, once you’re here, you probably won’t want to drive anywhere anyway. The staff speaks excellent English but they’re also patient if you want to practice your Spanish, and they seem to genuinely know the city rather than just rattling off the same tourist recommendations everyone gives. I mean, the concierge told me about this incredible little ceramic workshop that I never would have found otherwise.

  It is in a real neighborhood with locals, not just other tourists. The access to restaurants, bars, daily shopping and the sites is fantastic.
  The building is very attractive with courtyards and beautiful flowers. The furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked.
  The owner met us on arrival and gave us a good orientation.

  What could be improved: The internet is a bit slow and the sessions cut off periodically, if you need to work or have a call it’s a bit difficult, also for streaming services.

  Very central location in the heart of old Seville. Can walk to most of the major attractions and convenient to many great restaurants. Amazing history here!
  
  What could be improved: Parking costs 20 Euros per day and had to be paid in cash – credit card not accepted. Sometimes there were noisy neighbors. Streets extremely narrow and have to be super alert when walking to avoid cars. Driving in old town is very challenging.
