You know what struck me first about Pimienta 9? The building itself – it’s this gorgeous converted mansion tucked into one of those narrow cobblestone streets that makes Seville’s old quarter so magical. I mean, Calle Pimienta is barely wide enough for a small car, but that’s exactly what you want when you’re staying in the historic center. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral, and honestly, the location alone justifies the price point.
The Valcambre group clearly put some serious thought into this renovation. The rooms blend traditional Andalusian architecture with modern touches that actually work – exposed brick walls, original ceramic tiles, but then you’ve got excellent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer) and proper blackout curtains. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing. Even though you’re right in the thick of things, with tapas bars and flamenco joints all around, the rooms stay surprisingly quiet. The bathrooms are spacious by European standards, with rainfall showers that have actual water pressure – something you can’t take for granted in these old buildings.
Here’s the thing about staying in Barrio Santa Cruz – you’re going to do a lot of walking on uneven stones, and you’ll want a comfortable base to retreat to. This place delivers on that front. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood; they’ll point you toward the little family-run tavernas that locals actually frequent, not just the tourist traps on Plaza Santa Cruz. Parking is tricky (it’s the old town, so no surprises there), but they can arrange spots in a nearby garage, and honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. Everything worth seeing is walkable, from the Alcázar gardens to the shopping along Sierpes street. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not perfection, but it’s solid four-star comfort in a location that’s genuinely special. I’d definitely book here again, especially in shoulder season when the streets aren’t quite so packed with tour groups.

Great hosts as they communicated with us thoroughout the entire booking process right up to our early arrival. Location is fantastic and right next to the Cathedral and Real Alcazar palace. Our unit was on the 2nd floor with a large sized elevator in the building. Lots of space inside the unit which was very clean and modern. My teenage daughter loved her loft upstairs bed and private bathroom and shower. It was too cold for us to use the outside patio and swimming pool but it looked very nicely designed. There was a tiny bit of street noise from partygoers at times overnight but overall the unit was quiet. Beds are firm but still comfy.
What could be improved: Tiny bit of a smelly odor in the main floor bathroom when you turned on the light/fan, and couldn't fully open the window to improve airflow in that bathroom.Mandy from United Kingdom – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
We loved that there was air con in every room.
What could be improved: The room at the front of the property was quite loud in the mornings due to the the usual hustle and bustle of the city waking up which of course is not your fault but a fork lift being dragged across the stone ground at 6am can be quite disturbing.

The host was lovely, the apartments are newly refurbished, there's a dishwasher and washing machine. Bed is comfy, shower is lovely and has great pressure. Cooking equipment is good. Pool at the top is great to cool down after walking around Sevilla.
There's netflix on the tv 🙂

Location was perfect to explore the old town.
What could be improved: There weren't enough glasses, bowls, or plates for 5 girls sharing the 6 person apartment. We had to wash our glass each time. It would have been easier to have paper cups and write our names on them. Also the locker storage was fully used by other guests so we had to walk 7 minutes to pay for luggage storage on the day of checkout. Not a massive inconvenience but would have been nice to know in advance that holding luggage would not be available.
